Time to Boycott Brad Paisley & Tim McGraw

It is high time Brad Paisley and Tim McGraw were taken to task for their support of Barrack Husein Obama. I first must admit that I have been a fan of Brad and Tim for a long time. I love the way they put to tune and words of how it is to be a man is in the world. After all, how can you not enjoy listening to the way Brad strings together the words in his song titled, “I'm Still A guy”, or how he seems to lay his heart out in the tune titled, “I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishing Song)”? Then there are the songs by Tim McGraw that just makes me want to hold my wife closely as I sing along with him the words I could never think of on my own.

From the first time I heard Brad Paisley sing the song, “Who needs Pictures” in early 1999, I was a fan of his. And what man can honestly say he did not choke up a bit when he listened to the way Tim sang the beautiful ballad, “Don't Take The Girl'? These are the kinds of songs that have been missing in the American music industry. Songs that speak to our hearts, because we feel exactly like they sing them to us on the radio. For too long the American culture has gone down the trail of anger and hate in the music that has been presented to us. So Country Music has for many become what the music was in the “70”s, beautiful and relevant to our lives and hearts.

Yes, I have been a big fan of both Brad Paisley, and Tim McGraw. I even used their songs songs to try and convince my brother-in-law that he should give up Rock Music for Country. Well, he still listens to Rock, but he is not so critical of Country as he used to be. Well, their songs kept coming and I kept listening and buying them. Even when I found out that they were supporters of Barrack Obama during the Presidential campaign, I still liked them. I may have been a bit shocked by their support for him, but I still listened to their music and refused to turn them off when they came on the radio. I guess it was like trying to turn off the radio when I heard Willy Nelson sing his classic song, “On The Road Again”. Oh I knew he was a Jimmy Carter supporter, but times were different, and I wasn't really worried about my personal freedom back then.

Times have changed though, and I see things differently than I did in the past. Now, when I hear a politician speak about things I care about, I begin to weigh the balances, and they do not seem to balance like they used to. Now when I listen to politicians, and I begin to ask the question, “What part of the constitution do they not understand'? Which brings me to Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, and their devotion to Obama and his agenda.

I may abhor their political positions, but I will defend their right to their own opinion. There is no law that says because you are a County singer you must be a Conservative. And if there was such a law, it would be unconstitutional.

We need to appreciate those who are on our side and support them. We can criticize the policies of those who disagree with us .. but they do have that right. We have to respect the right of the individual to decide for themself.

I boycott the both of them, not because of their politics, but because their music is crap.

I am not quite ready to boycott them as they (and Jennifer Nettles and several others) have so far have not Dixie Chicked the fans...Brads latest song about the pacman game, the Japanese, and racial stuff is a little dishonest and mistaken on his part and worries me about the direction his mind is going...but he ain’t there yet.

If I boycotted every entertainer who didn’t match my political beliefs, I’d have few to listen to or watch. Forget about the boycott.

I hate boycotts. I hate this favorite tactic of the left. I refuse to play their game.

Yes ,all true. And, we have the right to not buy their material for ANY reason, including disagreeing with those political positions.

Yeah guys, shut up and sing. I didn't know Paisley and McGraw supported hussein but I do remember McGraw and his wife making inane statements about Pres. Bush after Katrina. Fact is too many of these idiots think that because they are rich and popular that they are intelligent which is, more often than not, untrue.

They have a right to their opinions and I have a right to not give them my money.

I don’t think we should not listen to them because of their freedom to chose who to support. Are they bashing America? I have not heard anything like that. In fact, they are supporting the troops by going to Iraq and Afganistan. I think we can give them a pass on this.

How about celebs and musicians just shut up and sing. To note, I was very surprised and encouraged by Maynard from Tool when pressed this last election cycle on who he supported, he declined to comment over and over, which lead many to believe he was not supporting Obama (the shock) I am sure that he probably came out later and supported the one in order to keep his street cred, but the interview I saw he refused to discuss what is political orientation was.

Amen to that, my friend.
Can't say I'd never heard of 'em, but that's about all.

Reminds me of the time in the mid 90s I opened my home page w/ AOHell. BIG pic of Garth Brooks and in bold letters proclaiming: Garth Brooks Rocks For Gay Rights.

I picked up the phone & canceled AOHell right there on the spot. I needn't say there's *no* Garth Brooks in my extensive music collection, do I? LOL!!

A couple of himbos masquerading as "country", banally screeching about what it's like to be a "man" while all but curtsying would never cut it with this uber music fan any more than ol' Garth "rockin' for gay rights" would've.
Not to the extent I'd spend good money for anything they'd extruded, anyway. LOL

Brad Paisley only had one good song “I’m gonna miss her, (the fishing song)”. Never have liked McGraw. However, if you’re planning on boycotting these guys because of their liberal leanings you’ll be listening to a whole lot less country music. You can put Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson in the same category along with a whole host of others.

The only so called entertainer I boycott is Jane Fonda.

She is a traitor.

To boycott these clowns means you’re also boycotting many good conservative songwriters whose songs they’ve recorded. I say buy whatever music you enjoy.

Wouldn’t hurt to support a few of the good guys, too, like Brooks and Dunn, Charlie Daniels, Trace Adkins, John Rich, Toby Keith and Sara Evans.
