It is high time Brad Paisley and Tim McGraw were taken to task for their support of Barrack Husein Obama. I first must admit that I have been a fan of Brad and Tim for a long time. I love the way they put to tune and words of how it is to be a man is in the world. After all, how can you not enjoy listening to the way Brad strings together the words in his song titled, “I'm Still A guy”, or how he seems to lay his heart out in the tune titled, “I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishing Song)”? Then there are the songs by Tim McGraw that just makes me want to hold my wife closely as I sing along with him the words I could never think of on my own.

From the first time I heard Brad Paisley sing the song, “Who needs Pictures” in early 1999, I was a fan of his. And what man can honestly say he did not choke up a bit when he listened to the way Tim sang the beautiful ballad, “Don't Take The Girl'? These are the kinds of songs that have been missing in the American music industry. Songs that speak to our hearts, because we feel exactly like they sing them to us on the radio. For too long the American culture has gone down the trail of anger and hate in the music that has been presented to us. So Country Music has for many become what the music was in the “70”s, beautiful and relevant to our lives and hearts.

Yes, I have been a big fan of both Brad Paisley, and Tim McGraw. I even used their songs to try and convince my brother-in-law that he should give up Rock Music for Country. Well, he still listens to Rock, but he is not so critical of Country as he used to be. Well, their songs kept coming and I kept listening and buying them. Even when I found out that they were supporters of Barrack Obama during the Presidential campaign, I still liked them. I may have been a bit shocked by their support for him, but I still listened to their music and refused to turn them off when they came on the radio. I guess it was like trying to turn off the radio when I heard Willy Nelson sing his classic song, “On The Road Again”. Oh I knew he was a Jimmy Carter supporter, but times were different, and I wasn't really worried about my personal freedom back then.

Times have changed though, and I see things differently than I did in the past. Now, when I hear a politician speak about things I care about, I begin to weigh the balances, and they do not seem to balance like they used to. Now when I listen to politicians, and I begin to ask the question, “What part of the constitution do they not understand'? It is a pretty good read, and one I agree with. It is time to de-fund the left, and if that means we need to stop supporting their supporters than so be it. There are plenty of good Country Stars out there who support conservatives like, George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, Charlie Daniels, Darrel Worley, Trace Adkins, Gretchen Wilson, John Rich, Toby Keith, Sara Evans, and others.

So let us all remove the liberals from our Christmas lists this year, shall we?

I stopped listening to Tim McGraw when he sang Red Cabriolet. In that song the girl chooses to have an abortion and Tim’s response is ..well we won’t think about it. That did it for me!

Brad Paisley has always seemed a bit wimpy to me. I’d bet he loses badly in a fist-fight with any of the above-listed conservative country singers.

Paisley is just like Mcgraw. He acted all faux conservative until he was big enough to come out of the liberal closet.

I long ago took McGraw off my list. And his wife Faith Hill too.

Kenny Chesney is a big conservative too. Two years ago (in the heat of the campaign when Bush bashing was a sport) I was listening to a Boston area country radio play a word game with Chesney and the chic said, “George Bush or George Clooney?” Chesney flatly said, “Bush. He’s a good man who gets a bad rep.” The radio sidekick was stunned, “reaaaaaallllly?” Hysterical.

Wow, that's good to know, because I knew him and Tim McGraw are great friends. They even own mansions next door to eachother, well they used to, I am not sure if they still do. So any way I never quite knew where he came down in politics. So now I know and it is good news.

McGraw and Hill both are friends of many in Hollywood. McGraw has made statements he would return to his home in order to fun for political office, as a Democrat.

As a friend explained to me about Country music....Country isn't country anymore...in fact...the other day there was an article exposing many of the so-called country singers who fake their southern accent.

Thank goodness I've never cared too much for country music, therefore, I do believe there would have been a tremendous disappointment because the left is duping people into getting money into their coffers anyway they can.

Thanks for posting this. We do need to support those who support America.

For another perspective, the left has no hesitation about going after and destroying performers whose music criticizes or threatens them. For an example I suggest Freepers look-up Steve Vaus and see what was done back in the 1990s to a wonderfully talented patriot whose career was starting to take-off.

I don't think you understand how a boycott works. If all conservatives, for example, were to decide that no money of theirs will go to a left-winger, then we'd have millions of people refusing to spend money on left-wing musicians, actors, movies, or businesses, and that would definitely hurt and hurt bad. Take the case of the Dixie Chicks, for example. Their livelihood took a huge beating when they spouted off about Bush because millions acted in concert to boycott them. In fact, the only reasons that suggested boycotts don't always work is precisely because of wishy-washy, passionless people such as yourself who can't be bothered to care enough about anything to stand on any kind of principle. With the Dixie Chicks, the target market was a fairly conservative, spirited group and so the boycott worked. With other lefties, such as Hollywood movie types, the target market is much broader, and includes liberals as well as unprincipled fence-sitters who claim to be conservative but actually don't give a damn as long as the idiot boob tube keeps spewing out the desired amount of brain-numbing trash. Such people keep the money spigots flowing, and thus attempts to boycott are not nearly as effective. However, you'll notice that Hollywood constantly laments their declining income stream these days, and blames it on pirating, without accepting that it may be because they are spitting on a good portion of the country with their constant anti-American trash.

So please, keep enjoying whatever circuses that you like. Don't let our little battle for the heart and soul of this country distract you from your quality time with the lefty zombie box. In fact, if you log off right now, you might be able to catch the latest episode of American Idol.

I could not have said it better myself, I just wish more had the passion you show for the way I felt when I wrote the article. Sorry Neets, but you are way off the mark on this.

I actually made my wife a bit angry with me when I told her i was finished with both brad and Tim, she is in love with their music. Thus contention brewed in the home when I mentioned my intention for speaking my peace and telling her I will not buy her any presents that include their names.

That’s disappointing, ‘cause I like their music. I don’t know why celebrities can’t just keep their great flapping traps SHUT (when they’re not singing or acting.) Like Laura Ingraham’s book said, “Shut up and sing.” If I were famous, I would keep my politics to myself, rather than offend half my audience.

It would be like the local hardware store putting a big sign in their window saying, “Bush is an idiot and Republicans are stupid!” That would be insane because all the Republicans in town would be offended and would go shop at the competing hardware store across town. Same with celebs. They are salespeople. Whether they’re selling CDs, concert tickets, movie tickets, or a TV show, they are salesmen, and it just doesn’t make sense to insult big chunks of your audience.

Toby is a big supporter of our military and has made multiple trips to entertain in Iraq and Afghanistan..He was a democrat that 2 years ago changed to independent because of the democrat trashing of the military and the war.

What I find amazing is any entertainer talking about their political leanings and losing 1/2 of the buying public...Stupid is as stupid does....Haven't heard much from The Dixie Chicks in a while....too stupid to keep a career. Like who cares what they think about politics.

Brad Paisley calls himself "staunchly moderate". But I agree that Brad Paisley is a huge disappointment.

Paisley seemed momentarily taken aback when asked if he was one of the rare country music stars who publicly admits to being a Democrat.

“No, I'm staunchly moderate,” he said. “I'm conservative on some issues and liberal on others. I don't like the extremes on either side. I didn't like it when they bashed President Bush and I don't like it when they bash Obama.”
