Leftist Church Leaders vs. Free Speech
Cross Action News ^ | 11/4/09 | Michelle Malkin

The war on conservative speech has moved from the White House to your neighborhood pews. Left-wing church leaders want the Federal Communications Commission to crack down on “hate speech” over cable TV and right-leaning talk-radio airwaves. President Obama’s speech-stifling bureaucrats seem all too happy to oblige.

It’s funny. They’ll raise our taxes, take over our banks and car companies... We get mad, but not quite mad enough.

When they take away our Rush Limbaugh, we’ll get up off our butts and roll up our sleeves for a REAL fist-fight.

Don’t you be takin’ our RUSH away!

The “interfaith coalition for media justice” is led by the United Church of Christ. Yes, that’s the same church of Obama’s race-baiting, Jew-bashing ex-pastor Jeremiah Wright. Other members include the Presbyterian News Service, the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the National Council of Churches. These religious liberals have partnered with the National Hispanic Media Coalition, which filed a petition in January demanding that the FCC collect data, seek public comment and “explore options” for combating “hate speech” from staunch critics of illegal immigration.

Odd that Michelle Malkin would leave out perhaps the single most notable leftist church leaders: the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

I asked Osman if there were any plans to remove the "principal partner" identification of the USCCB Department of Communications from the Web site. She wrote in response:
We continue to be in dialogue with other members of the So We Might See coalition on ways that we can continue our collaboration on the key issues of the coalition.... We are also working with the coalition to help make clearer to the public the USCCB's distinct reasons for supporting the FCC's opening a Notice of Inquiry.
When I asked her whether she meant there would be no change in the USCCB relationship with So We Might See, Osman replied, "No, I couldn't guarantee what the future holds." It appears, then, that there are presently no plans to remove the USCCB's "principal partner" designation from the Web site.

Liberal churches is a euphemism for tax-exempted liberal political pacts. There is nothing “church” about liberal churches, e.g. Rev. Wright. The best way to think of modern liberal theology is that Communism is the Kingdom of God on earth. Man, not God, will make create this Kingdom.

Wow, and the lefties always like to throw the crusades in the face of Christians.
Obviously these supposed “Church” leaders don’t know they are on the list.
Zero- sure we will shut them up. (but your next)
