Google's compromise: Sesame Street or the Berlin Wall?
Washington Examiner ^ | 11-9-09 | Charlie Spiering

Google has always been surprisingly random in the historical events it chooses to highlight by changing the logo on the front page. All last week they chose to highlight Sesame Street by promoting different characters from the show to celebrate the T.V. show's 40th Anniversary.

If you follow these things, you'll know that Google celebrated the birthday of H.G. Wells, the USB code, Comic Con, and crop circles in the same way.

On today's anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, however, Americans get another Sesame Street theme featuring the "Count."

I am sick of the Sesame Street hype. The best skit ever was the remake of the Michelle Obama visit where they call her husband out for the socialist creep that he is.

I believe SS taught a lot of kids to read and count, but has it also caused problems due to frequent left leaning bias?

The Wall coming down represents freedom for millions, SS is tripe.

I switched all of my computers to Bing as a search default (I run 6-7 full-time). due to this political issue. Google sucks and I am not supporting whatever it is they are selling. As a consultant, I also suggest Bing for clients.

Maybe. They've had no problem working with Oboma.

"Bing", huh.
I'll try it, thanks.

Been using Dogpile as my default; however, it often doesn't deliver so I'm forced to use Google, anyway.

Bing is Microsoft’s attempt to compete w/Google. Right now it sux. I really hope they succeed, not because I care for Bill Gates’ politics any more than Google’s, but because the word “google” has become a verb and they have a practical monopoly on search, w/ something like 80% of the market. Competition is good, and they don’t have any real competition. Oh, and the Bing commercials are annoying. But good luck with that. Seriously.

Use Bing for the fun stuff
If you want conservative hits use IXQuick

http://ixquick.com/

They don’t record your IP address so lots of conservatives are using them. If you want BC issues or an article on socialism, they are the way to go.

I’ve been using Bing for about a week and it seems to work pretty well. Previously, I had used Google, but Google Chrome didn’t seem to work very well on my computer and I got tired of their prompts for me to upgrade to Chrome all the time.

If I’m looking for a quote from Ann Coulter or the like, I use IXQuick. I’m happy with the results because all the paranoid people like me are using it so you get better conservative hits.

Got it!
GOD BLESS YOU, Mom!!!!!!! :^)
Thank you, I most certainly will.

"They don’t record your IP address so lots of conservatives are using them. If you want BC issues or an article on socialism, they are the way to go."

Perfect, bookmarked.

I noticed member PubliusF27 says Bing's owned by uSoft. Don't want to steer anything to uS any more than Google, for the same reasons.

OT: Your telling me of a genuine consrvative-oriented search engine website? Inspired me to repeat what I & others have been trying to tell conservatives for years.
Be fussy *who* gets their dollars! Who one chooses to spend their money with is no different than a vote. Probably has a bigger impact than a single vote, too.

In fact Robinson could really help his & all our cause by having a shopping section. Not unlike Amazon or Ebay where conservative businesses could pay a small fee for listing to garner hits; while, we conservatives keep our precious hard earned dollars out of the hands of liberals, socialists, fascists & any hybrid and in the hands of those we deem deserving. Especially, in these tight & getting tighter times?

Good grief, Mom. It'd be the vendor's responsibility for their website content, subject to approval *and* review.
Could be something as simple as a hyperlink TO a vendor's website.

Why not? It's "war". About damned time conservatives saw how much courage of conviction the otherwise fence sitter merchants who're more than glad to take our money while financing our enemies really stand.

Interesting. They don't have a logo, but they do have a link from the google.com page.

I always hated Sesame Street. Scenes of urban decay, "celebrate diversity", and all the other claptrap.

Liberals don't like to be reminded of the evils of Communism, because they are trying to inflict that ideology on everyone, even today.

As Freeper Talisker reminded us:

Sesame Street has been subtly brainwashing kids for two generations now. Unfortunately it’s working.
