This really takes the cake:
What I think is appropriate is that in the same way that everybody has to get auto insurance and if you don't, you're subject to some penalty, that in this situation, if you have the ability to buy insurance, it's affordable and you choose not to do so, forcing you and me and everybody else to subsidize you, you know, there's a thousand dollar hidden tax that families all across America are -- are burdened by because of the fact that people don't have health insurance, you know, there's nothing wrong with a penalty. - Obama

My sentiments exactly, unlike posts on this board, there’s a large populace that will not accept going to jail.
If the “authorities” feel so strongly about enforcing an unconstitutional jail sentence from an unconstitutional mandatory social program than they must be willing to sacrifice their own lives and their families lives.
Sorry, that’s the way it works. Live free or die.

Let's see. They put up a wall around Berlin, because they think their way of life is so good. They put a fine/prison sentance on health care cause it's so good. What am I missing here?

TOTUS was on vacation or something—that is one of the worst rambling sentences I think I’ve ever heard the man utter!! :-O

The same people who go to the emergency room for their medical care and don’t pay will continue to do the exact same thing under Obamacare.

This is an attack on our freedom. It’s called tyranny.

This will make those that love freedom and liberty all felons.
As felons, we will no longer be allowed to vote AND it will be an end run around the second amendment since it will then be illegal, as felons to own firearms.
This is the government our forefathers have warned us about.

“The only difference will be now we can go to jail - “
We currently subsidize all manners of victim groups, under the threat of imprisonment, or even death. Try not paying your taxes and see what eventully happens.
The only difference now is that they are blatantly stating the eventual outcome of refusing to give up your liberty.

“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers.”

It's different - the government is allowed by the Constitution to collect taxes. They ARE NOT allowed to force us to buy a product - buy or go to jail.
And no, buying car insurance is NOT the same because a citizen doesn't have to own a car...

SS and Medicare were sold to the public as a benefit, yet they were presented to the USSC as a method of tax collection. I figure the current health care legislation will end up being defended in the same manner and will end up being considered a tax, yet it is being sold as a “benefit.”
Try not paying your SS or medicare tax and see what happens. The only leverage the government has over us pleebs is with the point of a gun. There is no other way of enforcement of any legislation, tax or policy.
