I hate violence. So much that I can barely tolerate the evening news, where crime is given a spotlight. Yes, I know it exists, but why should I dwell on it? It only serves to depress me because I feel so helpless against it. Why would people ever commit such acts? It is mind boggling. The Fort Hood killings were heartbreaking, terrible, and should never have happened. Innocent soldiers were hurt, and the lives of their families will change forever. No one should die the way they did. When I first heard about them, I was upset, of course. I didnt have all the details, but I was still disturbed. When I found out it was a Muslim who did it, though, I wanted nothing to do with it. I knew what it would lead to. Finger pointing, a witch hunt, more confusion about my religion. Why should I identify myself with the tragedy when I, along with the vast majority of Muslims, do not agree with the killers actions? When details emerged about his unstable mental health, I understood what the situation was really about. The man obviously needed help and for some reason, never received it. He was angry and was armed. Case closed.

No, Young American Muslim, I don’t want you to apologize. I simply want to prevent you from becoming an Old American Muslim.
Take a bath with a toaster.
I think you can catagorize the members of the muslim faith into three groups.
1. Radicals
2. Those who silently agree with the radicals but would not murder others.
3. Those who are afraid of the radicals and therefore stay silent.
Until the entire faith unites against the radicals and excommunicates them, we have no choice but to view the entire muslim religion as potential terrorists and should watch them closely.
This religion attracts angry people and radicalizes them.
I cant think of another religion that allows such hate and anger to permiate their religion. When Christians murder in the name of their relgion IE abortionists, almost the entire relgion speaks out against the acts of violence but not Muslims because they fear for their lives.
Your post is so 100% spot on. It is honest...and not filled with PC diatribe that Muslims, and their sycophants, push to everyone else
“If we can take away anything from this situation, it is how a basic understanding of Islam is seriously lacking in our country. Even though it is one of the three major monotheistic religions of the world and there are millions of Muslims in the U.S., there are still people out there who dont know what Muslims believe, why they believe it, or what their religious practices are.”
Oh I think we can know them by the poison fruit it bears.
I remember talking to a friend that sailed around the world. He said if you were ever in trouble around muslim countries you would not send out a distress signal. Oh sure you would have guys come to you in boats, but to rob you in your distress. That is the “religion of peace”.
Well said!
Read some of the comments below the editorial. Self loathing non muslims blaming everything on Christians, slave owners, Jews, Westboro Baptist Church, George Bush. We are intolerant and cause this kind of reaction??
I find the comments more offensive than the original editorial.
Yea, well, I'm not one to tap dance 'round the matter. LOL
BTW, best of lucky with your Angels endeavor.
A wonderful cause, calling and group.
Beats the snot outa anything civilian our zerO's suggested, and one helluva lot more reliable. ;^)
(grin!) Thanks!
Could she apologize for this even if she wanted to? Any more than Obama can go to Europe and “apologize” for past American wrongs?
Kinda like that alarm we see that says:
“Break Glass and pull lever in case of Jihad”
