Palin's cover wasn't blown
Washington Post ^ | 11-22-09 | Kathleen Parker

In town to give a talk on civility, I was surrounded by women who wondered what I thought of Sarah Palin's Newsweek cover.

"Why aren't women coming to her defense?" they asked.

"Why are the media being so rough on Sarah?"

Having been enjoying a self-imposed moratorium on all things Palin, declining numerous interviews to discuss her latest self-promotional tour, I was surprised by the questions. My thoughts lately have drifted toward the sense that, though Palin is very much a celebrity, she's no longer running for public office, at least officially. Ergo, radar gets a rest.

As for her book . . . right after I finish "Ulysses."

Meow!!!!

Hey Kathleen, you can thank Sarah for your 15 minutes, cuz if it were not for you "pretending" to be a Conservative--all the while doing more hit pieces on Sarah than even the far left loons--few would even know who you are.

Yes, by all means, "Radar Off," and slither back under whatever rock you live under and leave the real attacks on Sarah for those who suffer from PDS on the extreme left.

They at least are not hypocritical and pretend to be something they are not.

Now get lost and see if you can wipe that green that's spreading all over your body. On second thought, it might improve your looks!!!

“...hawking a book...”

I love how it’s “hawking” a book when it’s Sarah’s. Would they ever say Jerkbama was “hawking” one of his books? No. They would say he was “inculcating in us a series of teachable moments through the magic of his inked quill”.

She is a jealous B___

From her wiki=>

Parker made news during the 2008 U.S. presidential election when she called on the Republican vice presidential nominee, Governor Sarah Palin, to step down from the party ticket, saying that a series of media interviews showed that Palin was “clearly out of her league.”

Parker received over 11,000 responses, most from conservatives criticizing her.

Nobody knows who you are, what the hell you are reading, or gives a flying puck what you think of Sarah Palin.

You are just a jealous beotch. Slither away, mean little orc.

As for her book . . . right after I finish "Ulysses."

OK, this is a pointed jab at Palin's book of which Parker sarcastically compares to, what she believes, a profound work of literature from James Joyce.
This single statement manifests Parker's phoniness, as well as her ignorance.
Nobody, not even the most left-leaning Irish literati, understands Joyce's books! Parker, being the insecure little wench that she is, cites 'Ulysses' in the vain hope to make herself appear a 'serious thinker'.
When she actually reads Joyce's incomprehensible hodgepodge of words drawn from the author's 'stream of consciousness'.
Perhaps Miz Parker will post her review of Ulysses after she has endured reading it.

Later in the article, Parker is forced to compliment Palin in order to rebuke the latter's objections (to the Newsweek cover).
This woman, Parker, is a mess.

“As for her book . . . right after I finish ‘Ulysses.’”

Yeah, that’s one of those books everyone has to read, and put down because it’s so damn boring and they just want to see some complete sentences again.

“inculcating in us a series of teachable moments through the magic of his inked quill”

...much like Julius Caesar, or Shakespeare for that matter. If Shakespeare was also a man of civil influence and power.

“Nobody, not even the most left-leaning Irish literati, understands Joyce’s books!”

Slow down there, buddy. You missed her little joke. Notice she says right after she “finishes” it. Implying she’s picked it up before but never got all the way through it. She’s with you. It’s a notoriously difficult read, though not as bad as Joyce’s other [cough!]masterpiece, “Finnegan’s Wake”.

Actually, I took the crack the opposite way, Rather than boosting her own intellect, I think Parker was saying she’s not going to get to it any time soon. “Ulysses” is one of those books that every liberal-arts type feels they “should” read, but never actually does.

I’m FINALLY about to finish read “The House of Saud”.... THAT is an extremely boring book. Can it get worse? (although, there is lots of information I didn’t know... and I take it like a grain of salt considering that it was written by 2 Brits that were obviously very ‘muslim’ oriented...)..

BTW, who is this Parker chick? Never heard of her.
