You folks remember a year ago Thanksgiving 2008? Liberals were celebrating, conservatives were commiserating about the end of the world. Well a year later and it is not a very happy Thanksgiving for our Liberal/Progressive friends. Before I brighten your day here's a little comment I posted the day after election 2008 :
"Come January Obamas days of gaining anybody is over. The whole game changes, the demon GWB is out, Pelosi/ Obama is in. Come January their party is over as all cameras are on them. And we reunite after many years in a common cause (finally) with the resistance. Our curse GWB/McCain is lifted, from darkness comes the light. "
Now check out this DU post the other day and think of what you were posting Last Thanksgiving:
"The calendar has come around again to Thanksgiving, and families all over the country will be gathering around dinner tables to celebrate. Or try to, anyway. ...

To those who didn’t vote for Obama, Happy Thanksgiving. To those who did vote for Obama, Enjoy your Turkey!
Where do these fools at DU get their numbers from? 1 person said 70% want the public option, who wants it?
RE :”Where do these fools at DU get their numbers from? 1 person said 70% want the public option, who wants it?”
MSNBC has been reporting that figure for months on the liberal shows: Maddow, Olbermann, Schulz. I have been watching their shows daily and decided to let freepers know what is going on on the other side. And they ware not happy.
“1 person said 70% want the public option, who wants it?”
Liberals want it, but only if it’s someone else paying for it. Just like everything else they believe in.
I think the libs need to be clear, 70% of Democrats want it, that # is much lower amongst Republicans and Independents, so overall the majority of people don’t want it.
Pitt = Commander McBragg.
“Quite”
Happy Thanksgiving ping! McCain is not president. Truly thankful.
Thanks.
They still celebrate Thanksgiving Day over there? I read somewhere, since it had its beginning with nice Native Americans welcoming the oppressive White Europeans, the holiday is considered not politically correct by them?
Dang, I wish I had that one available on Wed!
lol- I love that guy.
Thanks for brightening our day.
personally, i’m a little late in the business cycle. as a “late adapter,” i have yet a blog to pimp. :) (flame suit enabled).
A blog allows you to post text from sites that do not allow FR to post them.
Seems like last year it was a right-wing civil war:
"It's your fault for not supporting McCain."
"No, it's McCain's fault for being a RINO."
So let's hope the leftists' disappointment continues next year.
Watch what happens if they pass some kind of heath care bill in the senate and it goes all the way, though. Some of Oba Mao's negative poll numbers come from leftists who think he has not "accomplished" enough. Since he seems to be sending more troops to war, you might think that would help him, but the leftists won't like it at all, and their intensity may outweigh any advantage he gets from "moderates."
I have a friend who said 95% wanted the pub op. WTF???
OMG! ask them to produce a source to back that up, and ask them how Medicare is going. I read yesterday that the Mayo Clinic isn’t going to accept Medicare anymore.
What spoiled rotten children.
Obama is in a no win on the war. If it wasnt for his outlandish hawkish promises to center the fight in Afganistan (that his progressive base all assumed he was lying about) I would have sympathy for him.
I certainly hope my cynical sense is right and Health reform fails. Things are not rosy on that front for them and they know it.
I want to start posting more of the negativity I see on MSNBC.
Yes it has to be only democrats which we knows numbers are down right now. Last poll I say said 60%+ don’t want the reform and even more don’t want a public option!
Funny how these DU libs think everything’s the same, and some things are better. All up in arms about how the cost of sending a few more troops over will harm the economy, but not a word about the trillions wasted on bailouts, and the counterfieting machine running in overdrive. It took W 8 years to totally screw us over, and Obama has more than DOUBLED the screwing in less than a year. Under Carter, the Fed increased our money supply 13% over a 4 year period. This resulted in interest rates needing to be raised to near 20%. Starting with the end of Bush’s last term, the Fed has increased the money supply 120% (more than doubled the supply).WTF? How can we stop what’s coming? Can we avoid hyper-inflation?
Libs are very upset about the bailouts. They are calling for Geitner’s resignation.
But they are in a bind, Obama won and is president. not so much fun anymore when they could blame Bush-Rich-Bush-Rich.
Simply put, you have a delusional friend.
Remember, virtually everything in politics is opposed by at least 12-15% of the people because there are hard-core partisans that will blindly toe the party line (those numbers apply to both sides).
95% agreement of anything political is virtually impossible.
I don’t know any of these libs. All the ones I know still want to just blame Bush. When I agree with them that Bush screwed us, but O’s doing everything W did wrong, only way more, way faster, they still...blame Bush.
It is refreshing to see you dig up libs who’d heads are exploding. It’s gonna be more and more frequent.
That looks like a simple recipe for freedom to me. Easy to remember, too.
Blacks (unfortunately) voted for Obama at about that percentage.
That's what happens to me too. Back in the old days, I could still be friends with Clinton supporters, but now I find those who blame Bush but not Obama not only wrong, but downright untrustworthy.
The question is what will be deemed "failure" WRT healthcare. I think the odds are against them passing anything major for healthcare, bailouts, immigration, or crap and trade, at least until 2011. In fact, I believe crap and trade will not even pass in the senate next year.
I don't care if they actually pass anything, but I do care that they bring it up, so McCain can be forced into a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation right before the Arizona GOP primary.
This from what're easily the republic's thickest blockheads; yet, this one appears to have figured out the ruse in under a year.
That, has to be some sort of a record. LOL!!!!
“I don’t care if they actually pass anything, but I do care that they bring it up, so McCain can be forced into a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation right before the Arizona GOP primary. “
This must be McQueeg’s greatest fear. Let’s hope it comes to pass.
“In fact, I believe crap and trade will not even pass in the senate next year. “
I agree, and not just because of the exposure of international “warmer” fraud. Moderate Dems can hide for several years with Obamacare, but not with crap n trade. The negative effects will be quick, and many will lose their jobs.
Energy rates will skyrocket too.
When a demogogue promises he is all things to all people, he usually gets his a$$ handed to him fairly quickly. Think Romney. But Obama has had remarkable luck. He wiped his life history clean, and he is a dictator. Yet so far he has owned the media, and the judges.. I call that remarkable luck, as nobody has yet to expose him on a large scale.
Thanks for the ping, sir.
As you already know, I’m always interested in obsrevations of the primitives on Skins’s island.
As mentioned elsewhere, it’s a fascinating show to watch, and I like to see if other see the primitives as I see them, and add illumination for me.
ping, sir.
You are right, that is what they do whenever they argue with us, and what you describe I hear all the time. "We need 8 years to clean up Bush's mess, ...bla-bla-bla". You have to listen to them talk to one another to pick up on their worries. That is why I watch MSNBC and read their blogs. Ed Schulz (single payer lib) is the most honest about democrats being in trouble. Olberman is the least.
RE :”It is refreshing to see you dig up libs whod heads are exploding. Its gonna be more and more frequent.”
Thanks , I have been dying to share this disallusionment outside of individual comments I been posting. Much of this is natural, some even sweeter due to high expectations. I remember my reality setting in late 1995 with the shutdown. 2001 delayed it for GWB but made it much worse as Bush had the big head in 2002 and 2003.
I hope you can had a nice Thanksgiving.
And I hope Megan McCain went easy on her waistline! Fat chance.
Although if McC were POTUS he would like to pass something similar, he would have to be a lot more clueless than he is not to notice which way the wind is blowing for both Obama and crap and trade. I don't trust him, but my guess is he will find a reason not to vote for it.
No, John McCain isn’t President.
I supported him with money, campaign assistance and votes when he won the primary - to my very great shock and horror.
But John McCain, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner as well as others are guilty of helping put the current impostor in the White House through their incompetence.
The Democrats alone have become a traveling freak show of far leftist loons drawn from the dregs of society.
ONLY the total ineptitude of certain liberal elements in the opposition help puts them in office.
McCain is not clueless, just evil.
I agree WRT crap and trade politics. IMO "The economy is fundamentally sound" (McC Sep. 15 2008) and related McC blunders are clueless though.
Megan McCain ??? What made you think of her?
She is a chubby nutcase. Havent seen posts about her lately.
You mentioning McCain. That caused me to imagine he and his family at Thanksgiving dinner pleading with Megan to please same save some Turkey for the rest of them.
I haven't seen any recent posts about her either. I guess her 15 minutes are up. ;D
