Sarah Palin: Mr. President: Boycott Copenhagen; Investigate Your Climate Change "Experts"
Facebook ^ | 12-03-09 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 12/03/2009 4:40:25 PM PST by euram

The president’s decision to attend the international climate conference in Copenhagen needs to be reconsidered in light of the unfolding Climategate scandal. The leaked e-mails involved in Climategate expose the unscientific behavior of leading climate scientists who deliberately destroyed records to block information requests, manipulated data to “hide the decline” in global temperatures, and conspired to silence the critics of man-made global warming. I support Senator James Inhofe’s call for a full investigation into this scandal. Because it involves many of the same personalities and entities behind the Copenhagen conference, Climategate calls into question many of the proposals being pushed there, including anything that would lead to a cap and tax plan.

Policy should be based on sound science, not snake oil. I took a stand against such snake oil science when I sued the federal government over its decision to list the polar bear as an endangered species despite the fact that the polar bear population has increased. I’ve never denied the reality of climate change; in fact, I was the first governor to create a subcabinet position to deal specifically with the issue. I saw the impact of changing weather patterns firsthand while serving as governor of our only Arctic state. But while we recognize the effects of changing water levels, erosion patterns, and glacial ice melt, we cannot primarily blame man’s activities for the earth’s cyclical weather changes. The drastic economic measures being pushed by dogmatic environmentalists won’t change the weather, but will dramatically change our economy for the worse.

Policy decisions require real science and real solutions, not junk science and doomsday scare tactics pushed by an environmental priesthood that capitalizes on the public’s worry and makes them feel that owning an SUV is a “sin” against the planet. In his inaugural address, President Obama declared his intention to “restore science to its rightful place.” Boycotting Copenhagen while this scandal is thoroughly investigated would send a strong message that the United States government will not be a party to fraudulent scientific practices. Saying no to Copenhagen and cap and tax are first steps in “restoring science to its rightful place.”

I LOVE how she smacks down Obama. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. She says how she feels. The media doesn’t even bring up Climategate because it proves that this whole “Global warming theory” is nothing but a bunch of BS. When Sarah becomes President in 2012, it would be an honor to attend the inauguration. She will make a GREAT President

RE: “The more I hear from this fine lady, the more I like her-!! She will get my vote-!”

Agree — I became convinced I was in her corner when viewing the on-the-road interview Greta Van Susteren did with her on the book tour — on the bus. She was great — had a lot to say of substance — I was impressed! Go Sarah!

I think she once mentioned that she lurks on a lot of Conservative sites, including C4P. She never mentioned FreeRepublic but some of her facebook posts make me believe she definitely lurks here

saw a post on here by one freeper who mentioned freerepublic to her, and she said she did come here to her. Nothing official, but most freepers wouldn’t post something like that unless she said it, IMHO......

It looks like its Inhofe and Palin. The others are still waiting to see which way the wind is going to blow.

You can add Sensenbrenner to that list and at least a few other Republican members of the House Energy committee that met yesterday. The list is small but growing. But I agree with your sentiment.

There is not going to be much new coming out on Climategate except possibly some analysis of the computer code. The story, IMHO, now turns to the question of what the MSM will do going forward - will they continue to spike the story, try to whitewash it or cover it honestly. Copenhagen plus Climategate could and should be a hoot. Will it be. We'll know next week.

But perhaps the more important question is what will the Republicans do. They have been handed a silver dagger to stick into the heart of the Obama administration and the Democrat party. Will they use it? I would like to be confident that they would. But I'm not. They do seem to be sitting back and waiting. Waiting. Waiting.

Palin’s sense of timing is amazing.

Indeed. You beat me to it with your comment. I was going to remark that more people will learn about climategate from this one Facebook post than have from all the mainstream/state-controlled media.

I see my short list starting to form.

DeMint, Inhofe, Palin...

And Hunter, if he wants it. He may think he has no chance. But once you eliminate the Repubs who bought into the globwarm conspiracy, and the ones who bought into universal healthcare, and the ones who are weak on the border, and the ones who haven’t figured out which side they’re on this early in the game (and are thereby disqualified from serious consideration) its a very short list. And with an incompetent marxian poser facing him from the other side, by all rights this shouldn’t be that tough.

Agreed. She has the intelligence, savvy and more importantly the common sense to govern.

On a personal note, I visited family over Thanksgiving. My sister dislikes Obama with a passion, but Sarah too. She’s been brainwashed by her wildlife federation membership who keep sending out requests for money to fight against her killing wildlife from helicopters. I told my sister that she is no longer governor, but she’s stubborn about stuff like that and still holds that grudge against her.
