This office offers no opinion on the merits of the controversy regarding President Obama’s eligibility to hold office. Instead, we wonder why the President hasn’t put an end to the controversy.
Amidst all the speculation, conspiracy theories, and lawsuits surrounding President Obama’s original birth certificate, one obvious and valid question seems to stand out no matter which side of the debate one is on: why doesn’t he just produce it? (And why hasn’t anyone asked him this?)
The President has fought production of his original birth certificate in numerous lawsuits. In one, a U.S. Army Reserve major from Florida argued that his order to deploy to Afghanistan was potentially illegal because the President’s eligibility to hold office has not been confirmed.
Instead of confronting the issue directly, the military revoked the soldier’s deployment orders. These facts have added considerable fuel to the ongoing suspicion and debate.
Everyone appears to agree that President Obama’s original birth certificate (not the short-form Certificate of Live Birth that has been produced) would end the controversy and the lawsuits and quiet the so-called “birthers” once and for all.
Are we missing something here?
We want to hear from you. Please explain below why you think President Obama has not produced or should not produce his original birth certificate. Please vote to the left.
I think that you failed to understand the comment or I failed to understand your prior response, you said Obama was fighting the birthers because he had spent money on lawyers. I said that the lawyer fees weren’t really fighting the birthers but showed his concern for what might happen if he did nothing.
He would not be able to push more policies if he was proved to be ineligible and removed from office.
Not going to happen because the courts lack jurisdiction and any desire to get involved, congress already passed on their opportunity and won't revisit it.
Even if it happened it would tear this country apart because the allegation would be racism had brought Obama down and most all blacks, minorities and foreigners would believe the charge no matter the evidence.

The longer Obama stays in office the quicker this country will fall to the communists, bankers and/or Islamists. Race won’t matter. BTW there is a suit filed in Washington, DC to determine indirectly the court’s jurisdiction. Claire McCaskill tried her best to validate Obama like they did McCain (Senate Judiciary) but could not, and refused to expose him because of party loyalty. Hillary knew, but she refused to expose him and consequently lost the nomination.

Hoping it will happen at the right time. Blacks have the highest unemployment, are starting to really suffer and it seems that even they may also become disillusioned with Obama if it gets much worse for them.
I can't remember all the times I've heard birthers say something along the lines of "it doesn't matter where he was born, Obama is ineligible because his Father was a British citizen."
It's simply untrue that producing a birth certificate will silence either the lawsuits or the controversy.
If we can stop healthcare reform then we have a chance of holding the damage Obama does until he finishes his term, which will be the right time to get rid of him.
Having the ability and will to produce the
authentic, officially verified original long

key Constitutional issue is the citizenship
status of his father and mother.
I want more than that now. I want it all from Kindergarten records to college to papers he turned in for grades.
I want to see it all.

So in other words, the birth certificate wouldn't resolve the key Constitutional issues. Why then should Obama feel any need to release it?
The original, authenticated long form birth
certificate will show who the authorities
were contemporaneously told his parents are,
among other pertinent details.
He’s clearly not Constitutionally qualifed
if his father is Barack Hussein Obama Sr.,
a citizen of Kenya/UK, as he stated.
He’s already been proven to be a liar, numerous
times.

Yes, he can continue to pay out millions and threaten
the media and understandably doubtful citizens to
keep all those many official records sealed; but I
don’t think this issue will just go away .. and the
speculation and doubt will continue to remain and
grow as folks truly realize how naturally un-American
he is in his core, and as he takes this great country
further down.
Imagine the blackmail target this issue can make
him from other nations he may upset. And they’d be
blackmailing us .. the whole country .. our very
safety .. could be hostage to his actions in response.
It may even be happening now.
The press, secretaries of state, Congress and the
hypnotized tragically dropped the biggest ball ever
in our electoral history.
It’s all about will ... the will to fight for and defend
the truth, our Constitution and our beloved country and ..
and who has it.
I pray for America.

Yes. You are missing the fact that birthers believe, wrongly, that he isn't eligible even if he was born in the USA since his father wasn't a US citizen.
