The Left, since the release of Sarah Palin’s book, Going Rogue, and its million plus sales in a matter of weeks, have been wandering the streets in a benighted stupor, tugging at their unkempt hair, and shrieking at whomever will listen with their question of “why”? “Why is she popular, why is she on television, why is she on magazine covers, why, why, why?” “This is Sarah Palin, not Barack Obama, why?”
Despite the equitably challenged mainstream media’s shilling Barack Obama like snake-oil out the back of a mountebank’s wagon, and the very same media’s non-stop offensive on Sarah Palin, the latest Rasmussen poll finds that 51% have a favorable view of Sarah Palin while 43% have an unfavorable view, vis a vis Obama’s 49% favorable and 51% unfavorable. How accurate are these numbers in actuality, when almost the entirety of the media—print and television—dominate their coverage with fawning accolades about Obama, and when Sarah Palin is mentioned, she is an uneducated and unsavory hick? Why are Obama’s numbers dropping like the blood pressure of a Buddhist Monk in meditation, and Palin’s numbers rising faster than Nancy Pelosi’s botoxed eyebrows? If the 2008 presidential election were held today, Obama would lose to any unnamed Republican opponent. A Rasmussen survey finds that only 45% of adults would be a least somewhat likely to vote for Obama if he was up for re-election right now, while 4% would not vote for him, without naming an opponent. First of all Lefties, many many people do not have firm political beliefs and just go with the flow and trends. I can see a LOT of people who voted for bambi also voting for Sarah, for the same reason a lot of Bush voters also voted for bambi. It makes no sense, but then so many people are empty shells, mindless zombies.

Palin is a refreshing figure in the scene, but I just hope she takes it slowly. Reagan was extremely knowledgeable about matters economic, diplomatic, an military even in his ‘64 speech, way beyond Palin in ‘08. Yet it was still 16 years before he was the Republican’s nominee. Palin’s at least 10 years behind Reagan in experience and study. Let her run in ‘36 and she may get my vote.

I believe the MSM no longer has the ability to move poll numbers or push issues. They have won their last race and are now destroying what remains of their cred. Soon we will see the final stage: "If the Media likes it, I'm against it." Sort of like how I feel about movie reviews now.
Lot of people on the left are making big $$$$ off of covering Sarah Palin, particularly if they cover her negatively .... but that keeps her at the top of every NEWS cycle.
Example, Huffington Post averages 3 stories a day on Palin with thousands of hits each. Each click brings in more $$$ to Huffington Post ... but it also is free advertising for Palin.
Palin is not rich. She could never afford the amount of free advertising the LEFT is providing for her. Hell, Bill Gates could not afford that much advertising.
She’s taking hundreds of millions $$$ worth of free advertising and using it to her advantage! She’s no fool and I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s laughing all the way to the bank.

PS: You're anti-Palin slip is showing since you mentioned how Reagan needed (by your count) 16 years to qualify which would mean she shouldn't, by your standards, be a legitimate candidate until the 2024 election (earliest date that fits your 16 year "experience builder" criteria starting with the 2008 election.)
It is because she is normal like we are something the left would never understand since most of them are outside of the mainsteam and are viewed as weird and unattractive by the majority.That is why they try to destroy everything because they can not be a part of it. She is an American that has the power of communication and the values of the majority of conservative republicans (and conservative democrats too), she is for reform cutting waste and corruption. She is not afraid to stand up to the BIG OLD BOYS.
This is all too rare of any Republican in office and it has been that way for years now. They have bought the idea that they must be moderate to get elected.

Against immigration amnesty,
against health care bill in every way
FOR our armed services and national defense strength,
For reducing taxes,
FOR the right to own and bear firearms,
FOR drilling in Alaska and developing our known oil resources.
She makes a great impression and is smart and MOST Of ALL truthful, loyal, and a practicing Christian that takes her beliefs seriously.
She has my vote and support.
It is my opinion that many fear her so much they will do anything ...
anything to defame and deride her.
Do not believe the lies the liberals keep repeating over and over. She has more experience than Obama. First thing she will clean house and get rid of the Czars and the like.
