It has come to this. A newspaper in one of America's biggest cities has so sold out to extremists, left-wing ideology that it has throw logic, facts, and reality to the four winds in order to sell Obama's socialist healthcare policies. In a recent editorial the Chicago Sun-Times has absurdly determined that healthcare is a "right." Unfortunately for truth and reality, the Sun-Times is simply wrong.
As we all know, the Senate has been engaging in a debate on Obamacare. But back on June 16 before the lesser light of the Kennedy clan passed away, Senator Edward Kennedy included a bit of foolishness in a statement issued in his role as the Chairman of the Health Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, or the HELP committee.

Freedom of the press is a right but that does not mean that the State will pay for your publication to be printed.
Chicago Sun-Times is falt out Wrong.
Nothing new given how many times they have been wrong before.....
The idea of partially nationalizing the newspapers to save them has been floated. I guess that's "Freedom of the press" version 2.0.
I'm still waiting for my federal gun subsidy. I hate that my right to bear arms is infringed by my lack of dollars.
Three people are stranded on a desert island. One is a doctor.
They decide that to live amicably, they should establish some RIGHTS that cannot be infringed upon. They decide on many rights that are in the Constitution: you can’t make another person shut up, no one can go rifling through the other’s belongings, everyone gets to practice whatever religion they want, everyone can carrying a spear, etc.
The two non-doctors decide that health care is a RIGHT. What does that make the doctor?
A *slave*.
He must now provide labor for which he is best suited to the others on demand.
By establishing health care as a right, we remove the doctor’s ability to provide services at his discretion. THAT INCLUDES WHETHER OR NOT THE DOCTOR CAN REFUSE TO PERFORM AN ABORTION, since leftists view that as “health care” and refusing to perform the service would be denying someone their rights.
If health care was a right, you could ask the government to force any doctor who refused to accept you as a patient to do so, or face fines and/or imprisonment. Health care is a service; claiming it as a “right” makes health care workers involuntary servants. That is where we are headed.
Healthcare is a right!
You should be free to be as healthy as you can be and take care of yourself the way you choose.
And if you want to buy healthcare insurance, look into a way to barter or purchase it.
You have those rights.
People are balking at the “right” to pay for other people’s healthcare in a process that runs huge rivers of money through corrupt and unaccountable politician’s offices.
I believe I have the right not to be shackled by the fickle will of this govenrment, speaking of rights.
Healthcare or not, when the underwear bomb goes off in flight, a high rate of mortality, statistically, ensues.
Is examining the Present’s qualifications a right?
Everything is a “right” to liberal retards.
Except gun rights’, or the “rights” of a child to be born..
See my tagline...
Re: “Healthcare simply cannot be a right no matter what the govt claims.”

What about healthcare rights for all our pet friends, hmmm????? Are they disposable? You’d think so, given the lack of benefits they get unless some kindly soul takes them in and pays for their care.
I’m half serious here — my dog’s vet bills were three times what my doctor bills were this year. When will the millions of pet owners start demanding health care ‘rights’ for pets?
The Chicago Sun Times is just another failing rag — and from Obammie’s current ‘home’ city at that.
You cannot stake a claim on the skills and experiences of another person.
As Walter E. Williams points out, Democracy means that 2 people can agree that the third should give them all of his money.
Our nation is not a democracy despite what the Left insists. And now they fabricate “rights” (which come from Government, not God, and government is no longer limited in what it can do or interfere with but required by law to provide...).
If they want to make it a right let it go through an amendment process.
If health care is a right, then death panels will have to be unconstitutional.
OK, well, it seems that if healthcare is a right, the ‘common wisdom’ is that it should therefore be provided by Gov’t.
OK then, I have the right to bear arms. I will be sending in my list of right-to -own weapons for the Gov’t to supply to me, of course at no cost to myself, as it is my right!
