I hate to say this out loud. Upon hearing Rush Limbaugh was in the hospital and his condition serious, I felt a nervous twinge in my stomach. Dare I say it, I thought, “Oh my gosh, what if Rush was gone”. I could not help but think of the shocking passing of Michael Jackson. The next morning, I timidly turned on my TV. “Praise God!”, Rush is resting comfortably.

I had the same fearful feeling in my stomach once before years ago. My wife passed out after dinner as we were leaving a restaurant. She awoke and was fine. During the time she was unconscious, the thought of life without her overwhelmed me with fear. The incident gave me a whole new appreciation of her and our relationship.

This incident with Rush makes me feel the same way. I am sure when Rush started his career, he simply wanted to earn a living doing what he loves to do. Rush had no idea he would grow to mean so much to millions and his country. Rush Limbaugh has become bigger than Rush Limbaugh.

Rush, please take care of yourself. We (America) love and need you! God bless.

As thankful as I am for Rush Limbaugh and that he is still alive, he will pass one day as we all will. However, what he represents, TRUTH, lives, and it lives forever. Truth can be hidden, it can be obstructed, it can be frustrated, but it can never, ever be extinguished. I can easily be discouraged at times, but I know that the truth of conservative principles will live on.

Rush was reported in stable condition and comfortably resting last night before I went to sleep, but I still woke up several times during the night and went online with my iPhone to check for status updates.

Rush probably slept much better than I did.

It is sad reflection on the state of the GOP and the Conservative movement that our most influential leaders are media personalities. Is there a single party leader/office holder who has as much conservative influence as Limbaugh, Beck, even Hannity or Levin? The only thing close to national leadership not coming from the media is Palin and she simply doesn’t have the reach that these media guys do. No one comes close to Rush. Sad. God Bless him.

To lose confidence or heart would do nothing but prove the accusations of our enemy, that we are nothing more than mind-numbed robots. We know we are not.
We look at Rush from this point in his history, while he is at the top. Think back to 1988 or before. He didn't start with 20 million listeners or 613 stations. Rush has stated his thanks for the thoughts and prayers but don't you think he would want us to go forward with the fight?
People become involved in the search for the next Reagan or Rush or Beatles rather than the next Smith or Jones or Davidson. Conservatives don't look for instant gratification, we know that's not how it works. It's perseverance, it's sacrifice, it's dedication.
We will go forward.

What Rush does is art from the heart, how do you train someone without that same art to emulate it? Has there been another Ben Franklin? No. We can only hope and pray Rush's time with us is not done.

That is exactly how I felt. I saw the news and my throat caught and uncontrollable tears formed immediately in my eyes. I reached up for G-d. I personally don't want to live in a world without Rush.

He may be on loan from G-d but we still need him more than the Almighty does.

If people are going to post a name that might be a little out of the ordinary, please look it up on line. It is “Mark Steyn” not Styne. He is much better than Walter Williams. Williams is very knowledgeable in the world of economics, but his presentation is dry and flat.

His secret is simple. Be funny, be passionate, be articulate, be knowledgeable, do not stumble AND do not bore (with guests and such). But I think what sets Rush apart to a class of his own is his delivery. It has no peer in media and has never had any. It's a voice that you just want to keep listening to no matter what he is talking about.

The MSM controls the message. Even when congresscritters (and those seeking Senate and House seats) are on point, they can't get their message to the media (they are blacked out of access).

Some congressmen go to DC talking of changing things but then learn to "play ball" in exchange for Sunday Morning chat show appearances and invitations to the right parties.

Sarah Palin is reviled by the MSM but they know that she has been able to bring killer ratings so she gets exposure but I don't know how much of her message gets out. The media tries to keep the 3-ring circus going (Levi Johnston, left office, how's your book doing, who does your wardrobe, what'd you think of the jogging photo on the cover of a news magazine...).

Talk radio provides a way to circumvent the MSM but it is no replacement. The numbers aren't there (although I watch no tv, haven't had cable in years, and am up to date on Netflix and Youtube) to win elections without exposure in the popular media (which is orchestrated by liberals, Newscorp execs endorsed Kerry in 2004).

Rush is where he is in spite of the MSM, not because of it. He doesn't go on tv much, no need and it only brings hassles.

He is a gift from God, and it is that simple. I don’t think God made more than one, and he certainly did not leave directions or instructions on how to create another.

So sorry to hear about you losing your father. I too lost mine nine years ago on Dec. 14. I still go through a lot of pain around Christmas time. Heck of a time to lose a loved one.

Did you folks on the buses see the Big Black Suburbans headed to Fort Hood with Laura and ‘W’. I had my flags flying and I hope that ‘43’ enjoyed the activity on IH-35 that day...

(We were returning from the Tea Party Express stop in Waco when the big black Suburbans passed us on the way to Fort Hood in the aftermath of the terrorist attack there. First time we had seen them since January 20th. A great day!)

My mother called and said she had heard a news bulletin about Rush being taken to the hospital. I was scared for him...still am. Don’t want to ever lose him.

I began to pray immediately. Keeping him in prayer for his care and safety and return to complete good health.
