I dont see why the cashier at McDonalds making $7 an hour doesnt deserve as much as that waiter at Applebees probably bringing in $15 an hour after tips.
Probably because you've never done either job. I have. Servers work harder & have more difficult jobs than counter people.

I usually tip in the 15-30% range. If the service is horrendous I have been known to go down to ALMOST nothing.
The way I look at it if the service is very good I want that server to stay working in that job. If it totally sucks (provided they are not brand new) I want them to quit and go find a different job.
