Posted on 01/11/2010 10:14:25 AM PST by don-o
The revelation of Senator Harry Reids comments referencing negro talk is just indicative of the true sentiment elitist liberals, and indeed the Democratic party, have toward black Americans. The history of the Democrat party is one of slavery, secession, segregation, and now socialism. It is this new aged socialism born from the Johnson Great Society programs that have castigated blacks as victims needing government dependency. One need only to look upon the city of Detroit to ascertain what liberal social welfare policies have produced for the inner city ..the new plantation for black Americans.
The Ku Klux Klan was birthed by the Democrats as a terrorist wing to intimidate blacks, and whites, who sought to promote economic and education independence and social justice for blacks. What was once overt has just morphed and become covert, yet still exists
One can only imagine the insanity and media outrage if Reids quote had come from a member of the Republican party. I look forward to hearing from Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton on Reids comments or has liberal hush money paid for the silence of these proprietors of poverty and victimization theory.. Actually, if President Obama had any courage he would demand Reid step down as Senate Majority Leader, and discontinue any support for his Senate reelection .notice I said if. I am quite sure the Soros money which elevated Obama to the position of President has bought his servitude.
Why am I running for US Congress as a Republican, simple, I would rather stand proudly and be called Uncle Tom and Sellout than lose my self-esteem and be considered an inferior by liberals. I understand the legacy of the GOP and the black community .not that revisionist history espoused by liberal educators. I am not, shall never be, and will not raise my daughters to be a part of the liberal 21st century plantation. I am not just some articulate, clean, good speaking negro. I am an American warrior, Congressional candidate, and shall never submit to the collective progressive ideal of inferiority.
Senator Harry Reids comments are disgusting, despicable, and unacceptable. They are representative of how intellectual elite liberals do indeed speak of black Americans in their closed private spaces. Next week I have been invited to NYC to address the Hudson Institute, a conservative organization, conference on Reclaiming American Liberty. That invite came to me because I took advantage of the opportunities this great Republic offered. I followed the guidance of my parents and set my standards above all others around me. I speak well and have impeccable communicative skills because my Father and Mother prioritized that quality.
I shiver to think what my future could have been if I listened to the insidious rhetoric of charlatans such as Harry Reid, and the ambassadors of affirmative action who reside in the Congressional Black Caucus.
Sure, the stuck on stupid blacks are going to address me in derogatory names, but I possess something which they lack; Honor, Integrity, and Character. To them I say, continue to be slaves to the liberals for your vote ..and in a year you will be calling me Congressman West.
westLTC(R) Allen B West - is a candidate for the United States Congress in Floridas 22nd district.
Why do they have to work “Hip-Hop” into it?
And how bout that Harry Reid?
Clean, Articulate, Light-Skinned, and No Negro Dialect!
[snip]It also happens to be the same Harry Reid who declared that those who favored English as Americas official language were racist.
Reids latest display of brain-dead hypocrisy is reported, in part, at Yahoo.com:
WASHINGTON - The top Democrat in the U.S. Senate apologized on Saturday for comments he made about Barack Obamas race during the 2008 presidential bid and are quoted in a yet-to-be-released book about the campaign.
Reid, now an impassioned champion of amnesty for 20 million illegal aliens in America, once called illegal aliens free loaders and scam artists which he proposed to deal with in his Immigration Stabilization Act in the United States Senate in 1993.
That proposed legislation was introduced to the floor of the US Senate with the following press release, in part, issued by Reids office on August 5, 1993.
In response to increased terrorism and abuse of social programs by aliens, (I) today introduced the first and only comprehensive immigration reform bill in Congress. Currently, an alien living illegally in the United States often pays no taxes but receives unemployment, welfare, free medical care, and other federal benefits. Recent terrorist acts, including the World Trade Center bombing, have underscored the need to keep violent criminals out of the country.
Harry Reid: Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but the senator from Nevada does have has a way with words!
Just a guess - maybe there are some black hip hop fans who identify with the Republican party? Does that bother you, on some level?
YEah. Because as long as they have to set themselves apart, use code language, (and “hip-hop” is a code name here for negro), or try to “appeal” or “relate” to “the brothas” with that kind of language, they are NEVER going to be fully accepted. This seems like Michael Steele sort of Republicanism - show what a “n” he is for street cred, but he just ends up looking like a doofus.
Who’s Allen West, anyway? I know I’ve heard of him.
No question about it!
If anyone thinks that liberals act like elitists only with respect to white conservatives, they are sadly mistaken.
If you have to be in the presence of liberals in unguarded, private moments, you may be shocked and stunned not only by racist attitudes that they routinely express but also by out-and-out racial epithets the equal of any that you’d hear in a redneck bar anywhere in the South.
They actually appear to think that supporting certain policy positions and legislation gives them an exemption from having to act with basic civility.
At least that has been my experience with libs, which is one reason why I despise them.
Anyone else encounter similar behavior on the left?
The Democrats invented left-wing "political correctness". When they get caught in one of their own PC snares, it should be embarrassing, but their sanctimony doesn't extend to their fellow travelers.
I love what this guy says! I really hope he wins his bid for election!
I don't understand. Accepted by whom? Electoral politics is about coalition building. Every campaign I have ever seen includes many ad hoc support groups, based on all sorts of criteria - professions, locality, religion, hobbies, etc. Last time I checked, we need every vote we can get to wrest power from the Democrat Party. I'll take Hip Hop votes all day.
show what a n he is for street cred, but he just ends up looking like a doofus.
Please point out specific passages that make Col West look like a doofus. (I'll save you time - there aren't any.)
Shame on you.
Our very own Honest C has been working hard for a long time supporting Col West's candidacy. I expect to see her on the thread.
Can't say that I do, Scan. But, my social life is in areas where political discussion is strongly discouraged; and I like it that way. I do admire folks who have the fortitude to have liberal friends.
The sad thing is that the research is a matter of two mouse clicks
One - to the source of this thread.
Two - on Col West’s name at the end of his article.
The term is not what you think it is; the sense of sarcasm is apparently lost on you; empty your hand if you want to communicate with me.
I am in a ‘mixed race’ marriage (my wife is creole). We have noticed over the years that it is only the ‘liberals’ with whom we come in contact who ever mention our differences. The conservatives we know (many of them) have never made even casual mention of it. The libs are always surprised at her very strong right of center politics, they think she must have been brain-washed (somebody actually said that). That is because libs see categories and conservatives see people.
BTW, welcome to FreeRepublic ... use spell check, n00b.
Are you OK? You seem a bit, uh, tightly wound on this thread.
Senator Harry Reids comments are disgusting, despicable, and unacceptable.
no NO NO. Negro is not a racist comment and yet we are letting republicans allowing it to become so...because the democrats say so.
Question, how would you describe the ghettospeak of innercity negroes? African-American Urban Ebonics? AND what if Reid had said that Obambi did not speak in African-American Urban Ebonics...well he would have still been attacked....because we are not allowed to say anything negative OH WAIT NEG...humm sounds too much like NIG. I’m sorry
Let me rephrase that in proper afraidOFblacks speech....We are not allowed to say anything derrogatory of African Americans.
West should have said that the word NEGRO is not racist. What about NEGRO SPIRITUAL....IS THAT A RACIST STATEMENT?
Col. West has proven that he along with 96 percent of the negroes are race first and American second. I hope he sees that being caught up in the attacks on Reid is making him a racist himself.
Heck, these attacks on Reid are hot air. He wasn’t doing all that well in the polls before this.
I wonder if West will attack the CENSUS as being RACIST, since they will be using the word NEGRO in the census.
C’mon Col. West.
You have freepmail. Don’t spoil the ‘mood’ ...
You make a good point. I’d like to think it’s a verbal / rhetorical foot fault that belies his actual beliefs.
Plus, they are the most color-obsessed people on earth, the group-think habit you mention is probably why.
As I posted yesterday, the typical liberal finds racial overtones in the labels of Johnnie Walker Scotch.
No no NO. Michael Steele looks like a doofus when he tries to keep it real and get down wif da brothas. Honestly, I don’t have anything against Lt. Col. West - nothing. It’s just that “Hip-Hop” Republicans reminds me a little too much of “Log Cabin” Republicans.
I mean accepted in society. These African-Amer type folks might think they’re being very cute with the “race card” business, but it makes people not trust them.

I had never heard of this website, Booker Rising but I shall be visiting it.
Using the word Negro was not Reid’s truest mistake, and I can’t understand why no one is talking about this...Reid was being “caucused”. It goes something like this...
“Hey, Reid, what do you think of Obama as electable?”
Reid: “The way I see it, he’s practically white looking, and he talks white, except when it suits his purposes. So, he is black and he talks black when he needs to—that gets us the black vote—but for me and mine, he still looks white. He’s a go. Got my vote.”
West is addressing the plantation politics of the democrat party. It is more than evident in Reid’s comments. That is real issue.
