At the rate things are going, things here will begin to unravel well before then.

If there are mid-term elections, the gun-grabbers (read:dems) are going to get lambasted at the polls.

Still, even after that, Obama will continue using his bully pulpit to effect yet more “hope and change”. Of course, none of that will be good for us - or America.

This will lead to a further polarization and radicalization of the general populace from Washington/politicians of all stripes. Under these circumstances, it is likely we will have candidates who call for U. S. withdrawal from the U.N., and U.N. withdrawal from Amerca’s shores.

The battle lines are being drawn sharper and brought into ever-clearer focus with the passage of time and the passage of events like this. It's like there are outside forces who are pushing things from all directions to the brink, and there is nothing we can do about it, save prepare for the consequences.

That is nothing. So I moved to FL see? And no one told me how bad the heat and termites and humid salty air would be. I left me guns in the garage for a few days and when I checked on them there was nothing but a pile of rusty dust, saw dust and a puddle of melted plastic. Poof! just like that. Of course I gave all my ammo away after that since there was nothing to shoot it with.

You are correct - international treaties of this nature must be ratified by the Senate, and by a 2/3’s vote. Even with our very liberal Congress, there is no chance of that happening with this bill.
