Youve probably never heard of Brandon Darby.
The former community organizer who saved American lives by undermining a left-wing terrorist plot at the 2008 Republican convention used to be a proud member of the radical left.
He called for the overthrow of the U.S. government. He hated cops. He consorted with eco-terrorist tree-spikers, radical feminists and black nationalists. He was approached to rob an armored car and asked to commit arson to fight gentrification. He mouthed politically correct slogans about the Bush administration. Government didnt care about people, and he thought the botched response to Katrina proved it.
When he learned people were suffering in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, he moved there, defying police orders not to enter the stricken city. With $50 he co-founded Common Ground Relief in the home of a former Black Panther. Despite many obstacles, Common Ground alleviated some suffering in the devastated city, especially the hard-hit Ninth Ward. The group gutted flood-damaged houses and provided free health care and meals. In its first three years it accommodated 22,000 volunteers.

What is notable here is not that a far-out fringe group of anarchists wanted to throw Molotov cocktails at buses bringing delegates into and out of the conventionas horrible as that is. What is notable is that many mainstream leftists have denounced Darby as a "snitch" and expressed sympathy for the terrorists, describing them as just wanting to create a better world.
That is the essence of the left's contempt for the governed right there. Their whole agenda is to use force to impose their supposed vision of the ideal world. So why not embrace Molotov cocktails as part of their arsenal?
I don’t know how to do the article quote in italics thingy, so... From the article: “Government didnt care about people, and he thought the botched response to Katrina proved it”.
I think it should read: “He believed the lying media reports about the Bush administration’s botched response to Katrina.”
I must be missing something.
If this were a plot aimed at the Dems, this would be the top story for weeks, and start a whole slew of "crackdowns on the rightwing militia movement" or something.
All kidding aside ("It's because it's against the RNC, of course..."), why is this being reported in this one place, in such a low-key fashion, and not all over the news?
Lefties and anarchists will wake up and see the error of their ways and come over to the Conservative side...and in doing so will inform on their former friends.
This is a weapon the Left does not have.
Because the Leftist agenda is a false reality (an immaturity, a weakness, even a mental deficiency), there is little or no chance that a healthy Conservative will become a Leftie.
Anybody know how to reach this guy? Just googled their website and it’s down.
We need to give this guy an high five and help him as possible.
bump
Exactly....The man fell for the Leftard propaganda lie on Katrina as did so many Americans due to the 24/7 Lamestream Media blitz against Bush. The same lie could be told by the RW media about President Zero’s reaction to the earthquake in Haiti.
However, we are adults...
You hit the nail on the head - If a Christian FReeper had planned a terrorist attack against the Democratic Convention in 2008, the news coverage would have been 24/7 against the Right Wing, and the informant would be hailed as hero. Maybe even front page NYT...not to mention book deals and movie rights. I’m sure HBO would have done a mini series.
I’ll see what I do to locate the hero. He should get an award. He saved many innocent people from horrible injuries, or death.
I was at the convention. The Secret Service had created a binder of various routes to and from the Excel Center. The PA Hotel was about 10 miles from town. Upon leaving the center at night we never took a route where the buses would encounter an overpass. Every bus had a LEO for security. Most of the delegation didn’t pay attention but I asked our LEO all kinds of questions and he told me about this.
Interesting...So you think the Leftard plot wouldn’t have worked? From what you say security at the convention was highly professional.
Professional yes but overbearing. Guess you don’t get one without the other. Guess the sharpshooters on the roof should have made me feel safe. Would have felt safer if I could have had my own gun.
I agree. I think the problem is not too many guns on the street, but too few guns in the right hands. It’s absurd that the authorities put places like schools and malls off limits for legal guns in the hands of qualified people, which means that the criminal and terrorist elements know they have a “Free Fire Zone” until the uniforms show up.
