Is Teaching American History Unconstitutional?
Right Side News ^ | January 17, 2010 | David Barton

writing teams of Texas teachers drafted the 2010 proposed standards...The writing teams had recommended the removal of Nathan Hale, Daniel Boone, and General George Patton; they eradicated Columbus Day, Martin Luther King Day, and Christmas (but they did add Diwali as a holiday). They also declared that to say there was "an American love of individualism, inventiveness, and freedom" was to express inappropriate "value language," and they also rejected the concept of identifying specific beliefs that contributed to ou "national identity."

Education (actually re-education)is the key ingredient in taking back our nation. We must pass along the TRUTH of American Exceptionalism to our children and grandchildren, as an antidote to what they are hearing elswhere.

My 10 year old son is reading the story of Daniel Boone - taken from DB’s writings and memoirs. And loving it! Of course, we’re Kentuckians. And homeschoolers. ;-)

To combat this lunacy and mountain of lies, Americans will have to put the Tea Party movement on steroids, and start new movements that specifically target issues such as what is taught to American's children. These movements will have to become very large, loud and nasty (within the law, of course). Polite discourse will not work against this coalition of self-hating white ideologues and minorities claiming victim status.

Please, please, please...Conservative please abandon the idea that government schools can be reformed!

Government schools have **always** been a Utopian progressive and fascist scheme. The very goal of the Utopian progressives and industrialists of the mid-1800s was the production of a compliant and fascist worker class. They have succeeded admirably!

The fascist-Utopian progressives have **always** been in charge of the government school curriculum and teacher training. They have **always** been pushing the schools further and further toward fascism! They have been doing this since government schools opened in the mid-1800s to early 1900s.

Within one to three generations of fascist-socialist government school indoctrination we had:

**the IRS
**the federal reserve
**the feminist movement
**direct election of Senators
** the failed League of Nation and then the U.N.
** FDR elected FOUR times with his New Deal
**Johnson's Great Society
** farm and other industrial subsidies
** and thousands of other socialist programs and agencies.

Wow! The “Greatest Generation” and their parents and great grandparents were the first to be **INDOCTRINATED** in government schools! I don't think the above government interference listed above is so “great”.

Simply by attending the Greatest Generation and their parents learned that it was OK for government to take money from their neighbor to pay for a service their parents wanted tuition-FREE! Well?...If it is OK for the government to take money for schooling why not a thousand other wants and needs?

We are never to give up and to always push back, regardless of the odds. Anywhere the enemies of truth lie, whether in the school house, church house, or white house, we must shine the light of truth! Deleting historical truths from text books for the purpose of teaching their agenda to children is criminal!

Hopefully, the Tea Party movement will realize the government schools must be SHUT DOWN! Government schools have **always** been a fascist Utopian and progressive scheme!

We need voucher, charters, and tax credits to build the infrastructure and then we must move to completely privatize all K-12 schooling.

Yes sir. Diversity is a strength. The Marxist are in full control. The anti-white crusade will not stop until we are destroyed or we stop it.

One of the best ways to “push back” is to pull the rug out from under them. Think of it like a martial arts maneuver.

We must get the children **out** of the government schools.

But...Yes, I agree. We must push back against those indoctrinating our children in the government schools. In the mean time though we need to get the kids OUT of the government schools. We need to be laying strategies for completely closing down the government K-12 schools.

It is called revisionist history. part of the New Paradigm Thought. Yes, it has even entered the American Church. Yes, that is right it is being spread through churches in America. American children do not need to know whom and what contributions George Washington, Daniel Boone, Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Adams and others. Instead look at martin Luther King, Malcom X and Barack Obama have done for Americans. Church denies Jesus Christ. ridulcules Jean Calvin ( Protestant Ethic) Martin Luther, John Knox. strives to say that socialism is advocated in scripture and tradition. Some call it Post America, Post Christian. World Globalization. Liberal Progressivism

Government schools are not going to be shut down. People can work for vouchers and other alternatives, but the biggest change will be brought about by fighting those who are/have turned public schools into PC indoctrination centers.

In California striving to ban Home Schooling. one case already has done so, it is in the appeals process. Publick Scrool is making for unedukated children inkapable of thinking or speling. improper grammar like ‘he and his sister’ (Michelle Obama) could be considered negro dialect or educated elitist whom were passed through due to affirmative action

I was thinking - since they fight with such intensity to make sure God isn’t brought into the classrooms, why can’t we start some sort of coalition to monitor classrooms and put up a website to “rate a professor” by these volunteers - some sort of scale on liberalism and socialistic tendencies. So what if they all show up as perfect 10’s (on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being Obamalike) We have to start making a point about what’s going on in the schools. I have a friend whose twin boys are attending a Christian university. Just got into a facebook debate with them, they are 100% for full blown socialism.

Hopefully, Texas will have a whole new slew of homeschoolers or private school students whose parents will not countenance this nonsense. Unfortunately, as far as textbooks go, I believe that both Texas and California textbook providers have great influence over the rest of the country.

Other than a few pockets in the major cities, we have pretty well narrowed their infestation. Unfortunately for us, that concentration is in the state capital, Austin.

I think that's pretty common for young and dumb college kids. Always has been, but most change when they actually start work, earning a living and paying taxes.

I think what you said, what goes on in the classroom and the curriculum, and textbooks are where the real battles should be waged with school boards and state boards of education.

The people who oppose this PC indoctrination could overwhelm those who promote it in most parts of the US. But it will take organization and a nasty attitude to get the attention of these PC automatons.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I agree with you that we must push back hard against fascist Marxist Utopianism wherever we find it. This means actively doing all we can to change the school boards and curriculum of our current government schools.

But...I disagree with you that government schools can not be shut down. Why?

Answer: Seemingly large and intractable institutions can lose their legitimacy almost overnight. For example, Martin Luther and the Catholic church, the fall of the Soviet Union, and our own American Revolution.

We now have voucher, tax credits, and charters in many states. The waiting lists for these programs are very very long. The parents whose children are on this lists are politically very well organized, vocal, and effective in their lobbying efforts. Legislators will not ( and are not) deaf to their pleas. Since government schooling is the largest expense for most counties and the state, charters, vouchers, and tax credits are one of the most effective means for balancing the state budgets and getting government school employees off the state pension and benefit programs.

Then, as conservatives, we must encourage parents to take their children out of the government schools. This starves the government schools of the funding that goes with that children.

Finally, homeschooling continues its remarkable growth of 7 to 15% a year.

Taken all together, I am very hopeful.

Is teaching history "unconstitutional"??? NO.

And that is because our public schools teach revisionist history.

Therefore...everything is peachy.
