Ok, ok... settle down - yes of course there are a few - but VERY FEW. In fact so few of the top talk radio programs are hosted by women it begs the question - WHY? As I look at the 39 top programs in Talk Radio (according to Talkers Magazine) - I see a measly 5 women on the list. Not saying the women are measly - just the number!
Let's consider the top programs:
Rush Limbaugh Sean Hannity Glenn Beck Michael Savage Dr. Laura Schlessinger Laura Ingraham Mark Levin Dave Ramsey Neal Boortz Mike Gallagher Michael Medved Jim Bohannon Doug Stephan Bill Bennett Jerry Doyle
There are only 2 women in this top list - both Laura's... both huge stars, but only 2.
So why are there so...

Indeed! I sure enjoy listening to Laura Ingraham. So far the whole thing is still market based.
I actually like listening to Laura, Tammy and Monica. Too bad we don’t have more stations or more hours in the day.
It’s not a talk show but Delilah is smooth.

That’s because Hissy Chrissy and Keith Meltdown Overnutin are on TV.
I agree. There aren’t many female radio hosts that keep my attention. Although I do like Kim Kommando. But her voice is pretty deep for a woman. I can barely hear and understand Laura Ingraham. It’s like she’s mumbling and she has very little inflection. I’m sure she’s great but she might as well be humming.
Have you been catching Hannity lately ? Since he’s been taking those Lib calls and doing a terrible job fielding them. (And by the way the guy who handles those “seminar” callers the best is Savage) I’ve been switching to Medved ugh or Belling with his 10 second spacing between sentences which reminds me of the old Bob and Ray slow speaker routine . I wish I could get Ingraham.

Loved hearing her weekday show when it was on in Los Angeles...this was right around the time of the stimulus...or as she called it, "The Trillion Dollar Crap Sandwich"...
I listen to Hannity some every week. Ingraham doesn’t do a great job on those sorts of callers either. In fact, I think she is weaker. I still listen to her most mornings, but I doubt that she would have that syndicated show if she had to get it in a straight-up completely merit-based competition. Nevertheless, she has improved a lot over the years.
As for Savage, sometimes he is a very good listen; other times he is almost unlistenable. I agree that he is better with the seminar callers than either Hannity or Ingraham.
That’s my $.02.
