Bunch of politically correct fools. We are actually closer to doomsday than we have ever been. The Soviets ,while intent on World domination by communism , at least believed in scientific progress , and had some rational , if evil people, people in charge. In recent history, when elites yammer on about a growing chance for world peace (with the likes of Neville Chamberlin, Woodrow Wilson, Roosevelt, or Obama) it ends in global war.
