I’m guessing is if we all really try hard to hope, things might change. Don’t you love the pragmatic wisdom that is bammyland?

Not to worry. My Company was selected to do a water treatment plant funded by Tarp. This Project will take 1 week to do but the certified payroll will count the guys on the Project for those 5 days as “Jobs Saved”.

All is well.

You can add an additional 10,000 EACH for both Verizon and Wal-Mart to this figure. They aren’t included but have also been announced.

Welcome to:

OBAMAVILLE

Gett’n a head fake,
watchin' msn’s take;
All of their pundits oozing foul oil.
Clean’n my six gun on my front porch swing.
Felling my blood--
It’s beginnin' to boil.

Wasted away again in Obamaville,
Searchin' for a job so I can earn my salt.
Some people claim that Bush is to blame,
But I know it's Obama’s fault.

There’s no rhyme or reason,
They are all commitin’ treason
With nothing to show but a brand new tax or two.
But they are real beauties,
Despotic duties, how they got passed
I haven't a clue.

Wasted away again in Obamaville,
Searchin' for a job so I can earn my salt.
Some people claim that it’s Bush we should blame,
Now I think,-- hell with them it’s Obama’s fault.

I blew out my flip flop,
Stepped on a pop top;
Cut my heel, but I just cruise on back home.
Because no medical care will the doctors render
They say there’s little service I can tender
And there’s no need for me to hang on.

Wasted away again in Obamaville
Searchin' for a job so I can earn my salt.
Some people claim that Bush is to blame,
But I know, it's my own damn fault.
Yes, and some people claim that Bush is to blame,
And I know because of my vote it's my own damn fault.

54,500

Make that 54,501. I just got laid off after almost nine years. And our clients are that most governmental of entities: schools.

Until or unless Obama and the dems are removed from power, it’s only going to get worse.

I wonder, at what point will we have past the point of no return? I sure don’t know what that number will be, but it sure feels like it’s not very far away....

"Publix has said it would be holding job fairs and interviewing the estimated 5,000 Albertsons workers whose jobs are being eliminated. Calls to Albertsons were not returned."

Central Florida - as of Monday January 19.

The stores, including their liquor stores, are liquidating their inventory over the next few weeks, then closing.

Caterpillar?

Impossible!

President Obama promised that if his stimulus passed Caterpillar would not only stop laying off people, it would rehire those it already laid off.

You Lie!

Nearly 75,000 jobs gone in a week. That many jobs support a much larger population.

This is equivalent to losing an entire medium sized city’s worth of jobs, like Corpus Christi TX or Jackson MS.

The hopeychangey has not twigged to the fact that what he is doing is shredding the economic fabric of the nation.

My boss call all 5 of us together yesterday morning to let us know we were being furloughed until he could find more work. He didn't paint a very bright picture for the future.
In one year with Obama, I'm worse off now than I have been in 32 years since Jimmy Carter cost me my job.

This news will present a very interesting backdrop (along with the Brown election) to the lies Obama will try to peddle during his SOTU address.

When he smiles and tries to brag about all he's done, America will know the truth about all the families struggling because Obama will not take the action necessary to put our country back on solid economic footing.

Obama's spin, and we all know he will speak from an alternate universe, will be punctured by these very powerful events.

I thought Obama said Caterpillar would be hiring once the stimulus got going??? Don't forget Wallmart's cuts yesterday

How short sighted, you outsource good paying Manufacturing jobs and who is going to keep the rest of the economy going?? Eventually it hits everyone.. this is the double dip.. less middle class jobs..drop in property values and fewer consumers .. so fewer service jobs and around and around we go

Lay-offs coming at Crenlo

http://www.kttc.com/global/story.asp?s=11879415

ROCHESTER, MN (KTTC-DT) — Just four days after a new contract agreement between cab manufacturer Crenlo and its employees, there’s some unfortunate news for workers.

The president of the union that represents Crenlo employees, David Zebaugh, says 33 employees will be laid off.

Me too. The article is dated January 26, 2009 but the comments are from today. I'm guessing that USN&WR's website just goofed on the date.

Actually, if gov't actually spent more of the stimulus on this, I'd be behind it. At least we'd have something to show for our money afterwards.

Better than blowing 700 billion on grants for make-work studies.
