Analysis of 2012 GOP Contenders Says Mitt Romney is "the Big Gun" - Video 1/29/10

Here is a video report assessing who might run in 2012 for the GOP Nomination for President.

The report has analyst Teddy Davis saying Mitt Romney is "the big gun" because he has money and name recognition, and the GOP has a history of choosing "second-time candidates." Romney has been campaigning for other Republicans around the country and built a lot of good will. Davis says "Romney is considered the front-runner. Sarah Palin is the big question mark, as to whether she will run or not. The downside for Palin that Davis pointed out is that "3 out of 5 Americans say she is not qualified to be President."

Newly-elected GOP Sen. Scott Brown is unlikely to run, even though he has become an overnight star with his win in Massachusetts. Davis points out that Brown is not pro-Life, which would hurt him in GOP primaries. . . . (VIDEO)

I totally agree .. Romney would be good at either Treasury or Commerce.

We must remember that a department head has to take his cues from the President. If the President is whimpy then the secretaries will be the same.

It will be most important to elect a President who is not afraid to call corruption what it is .. expose it .. and get those people out of office or out of control of the people’s money. Tough job .. media will abuse .. they must have a steel spine instead of wanting to be liked.

"Who's Teddy Davis?"

Yeah, that's what I'd like to know. I hope we're not about to let the MSM choose our candidate...again.

I’ve heard talk of a Romney-Palin ticket. That would make sense. She would already have a foot in the door in 2020 at the age of 56.

While checking on her age, I discovered her 46th birthday is coming up on February 11th.

Huckabee so wants to run in 2012. He is concerned if he can raise enough money to compete.

If the GOP Beltway starts to line up behind Romney, Huckabee may decide its his Godly duty to stop Romney and run as the “regular folks” candidate.

Huckabee does not like Romney. Back in 2008, when McCain considered Romney as Veep, Huckabee rallied evangelicals to say no to Romney. Also, whenever Huckabee talks about ObamaCare on Fox News, he frequently makes pot shots about RomneyCare.

And .. to add to your statements .. I’ve noticed that ever since Palin has been on FOX .. the approval ratings for her have jumped.

Now that Palin has NAME RECOGNITION - I think people were curious to see what she had to say - and her decision to go on FOX was BRILLIANT!! She has defeated Huckabee without firing a shot. And .. I was convinced Huckabee went on TV just to gain name recognition for a 2012 run.

Hmmmm ..?? Looks like the moderates have been proven WRONG AGAIN ..??

She has alot of time for on on political career, but would risk going into obscurity if she lost to Obama again.

Does she personally need a political career? Unlike Romney who planned on being President in playgroup, I doubt if the thought even crossed Sarah's mind until 17 months ago.

Now that some people have suggested, and others have suggested not, that she could do the job, she's probably thinking "Challenge Accepted!"

Bit if she doesn't get it, she goes back to that lakeside cottage, does a little hunting and fishing, and watches the royalty checks on her second book come in. (It's a hard life, but I'm sure she could be happy at it)

Everyone should make criticism of idiot Romney
for RomneyCare, and for the BIG DIG coverup,
and for his imposition of gay marriage against
the Mass. Constitution, and for his tanking
of the economy, and for his abuse of animals,
and for his faking LEO badges and endorsements,
and for his dirty tricks, and dirty push polls,
and backstabbing during Election 2008.

Oh, I forgot, you like Romney for that.

Do Not Allow ANY Media To Choose Our Candidates! We The People Will Choose Our Candidates!

The Media chose McCain in 2008 when Republicans might have chosen Mitt Romney. Romney is helping Republicans raise money which is good. But he's not a Conservative.

If Sarah Palin doesn't wish to run in 2012, Michele Bachmann has proved herself to be a good friend of the Tea Party and Conservatives and Constitutionalists. Michele Bachmann should be given consideration.

Pay her bills? Do to the family fishing business( couple of boats and crew ) they were, just barely, worth a million. She probably made five off her book.

Now this isn’t some salt of the earth type like McPain( 11 homes ) or Mitt ( home boy of Utah, Michigan, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, California..)

For her, she’s well off. She has made the money SHE needs.

Except Mitt will not get the nomination. No one save junkies and Mormons know about him. He comes across as plastic and fake as John Edwards. He can not win the GOP nomination for love nor money( tried one, wants the other)

Mitt is trying to do nationally what he did in Mass. Win over the establishment. In many ways the dynamic is the same. A bad Democrat party, bad to weakening economy, a weak partly desperate GOP( has been since Reagan ).

But there are differences. Mitt’s cheese weasel positioning, er...strategic marketing.., all were in the Massachusetts voter’s comfort zone. This is after all the state that kept drunk, murderous Ted and bumm blaster Bwarny Fwank in.( there are a good fifty more common politicians of equal or worse types which are not national know names).

However the nation isn’t Massachusetts, and the national body of GOP voters is a lot, way way way lot( this is why Mittens has scurried over to the conservative marketing ) than Mass republicans.

Further, Mitt’s money, even Mormon money, isn’t big enough nationally.

So, Mitt can not talk in other than a cheese weasel don’t look at my single term of elected office and convincingly be conservative enough, no matter what he says, and he doesn’t have the money to buy it, and he getting the support of a leadership that is held in contempt and distrust by the majority of Republicans that vote in the primaries( think Steele ).

The downside for Palin that Davis pointed out is that "3 out of 5 Americans say she is not qualified to be President."

The downside for Romney that Voters pointed out is that most Americans said he was not qualified to be President in 2008 primaries.

You're right that Mitt is not remotely as conservative as the majority of GOP voters nationwide.

But you don't have to be that conservative to win the GOP nomination.

You only have to be conservative enough to win in a few early, liberal, crossover voting, winner take all states.

And that ain't very conservative, FRiend. Ask McQueeg.

I never said I like Romney and I'm sorry I have you that impression, how ever I do honestly believe that Romney could have won if McCain and Huckabee would have dropped out. I know much of what obozo was saying went right over the heads of most Americans, it not all of what was being said but most of it. He laid it out, he was and is a progressive, something I missed. Hitlary also called herself a modern progressive in other words she is only half evil. Mrs. obozo was never proud of this country until now. She only liked the money in this country and now she plans to rake in all of it. They want to bankrupt America but with they also be bankrupted?
Romney I think would have exposed Bob Rubin,Greenspan and the Clintons. Romney may not be the perfect solution but he was high enough in the polls that he could have won over obozo. What we have now is killing us, financial yes and if the obozocare, hitlarycare, polossicare, riedcare goes thru the right to die law will be in effect, that is what Clinton tried to pass and couldn't, so they call it healthcare. I don't think Romney would go so far as to bankrupt the country, right now almost anyone would be better than obozo.
The American people have got to take a stand and face the facts that we are dealing with TREASON and nobody wants to talk about it because of the fear of a back lash from black Americans. I got news for black America, when we go down color won't matter, a missile can't pick out colors and when the money is gone and food is scarce we will all face the same problem. Black American won't face up to what Sharpton or Jesse Jackson is so I don't expect them to face up to what is in our white house.

Like many of the politicians they refuse to put their country first, the American People first so the Rats take advantage of what is going on and look at us today.
If America doesn't wake up, this country may not survive another year with these thugs that HYJACKED this country.
Remember Sharleen Willson, the girl in Arkansas prison, in prison mainly to keep her quiet about the Clintons. I think Huckabee could have pardoned her and again he refused to do the right thing.

Huckabee has a job, keep it and stay the hell away from running for President. He did enough damage to this country by hatefully staying in a race to stop someone else just because he hates them. It's up to America to decide.
I don't think a man like Huckabee would be good for the country. He spoke softly and refused to expose the Clintons. He knew plenty and still does and yet he sat back and allow this country to get stuck with the most corrupt, evil people on the planet. We now have a terrorist and trader for a President and the some low life thugs from the Clinton administration in the white house.

In some ways I wanted to see Fred Thompson go a lot further and I would have liked for him to be more out spoken. I remember the investigations that Thompson held, those were the first to try and uncover some of the corruption that was taking place with the Clintons and the Rat party. He'd come out swinging but than drop the bat and let them walk all over him. I was hoping to see a with a lot more fight in him and ready to take on the corruption and put those people behind bars were they belong, but once again he walked away, he let those thugs get away. I think Thompson knew like many others just what this country may be facing and he still refused to fight for his country.

Although Huck PAC raised just $800,000 for 2009, Huckabee does have plenty of willing volunteers for Huck’s Army. Many elderly and lower middle class church goers think a vote for Huckabee is a vote for Jesus.
