Sen. Snowe Flat Out Rejects Reconciliation in Talks with Dems
Red State ^ | January 31, 2010 | Dan Perrin

Do not freak out about Sen. Snowe talking to the Dems.

Senator Snowe has rejected moving forward on any health care bill with the Democrats using reconciliation. This is GREAT NEWS. Without reconciliation the Dems will be in a de novo — start at the beginning — situation, which is where they should start.

If the desperate Dems try reconciliation, this time, they will have a far more serious Republican strategy of “outright war” to deal with — and the repercussions of being on ObamaCare on the Senate floor and in Senate Committees for months and months.

The Dems would be so bloodied and beaten and wounded by the end of their attempt, ObamaCare would not pass, and they would have destroyed the less than one percent chance to explain to the American people that they are not dangerous radicals that ignore what the people want, and keep cramming ObamaCare down the public’s throat because they, the Dems in Washington, know better.

If true, it may be the end of Hussein’s plan to enslave America to his health care system.

Pray to God it is true.

When even a liberal like Snowe says no, the game is over.

Oh, crap. This can only mean one thing.

Reid hasn't met her price yet.

When you’re dealing with true believers in something, be ready for anything. Compromise aint part of the plan, and retreat is only a chance to regroup.

The Dems have abandoned moderation.

“Reid hasn’t met her price yet.”
Or could it be that she’s trying to salvage her political career?
I’ll bet she’s gotten an earful lately from the home state voters.

I hear directly from a politico whose job is to monitor these things that Collins and Snowe are adamantly opposed to healthcare in any form as has been proposed by the dems and feeling quite used by the dems.

“Sen. Snowe Flat Out Rejects Reconciliation in Talks with Dems....”

With all due respect, if Sen. Snowe takes a stand on Obamacare it will be the FIRST time that I can recall. IMHO, when the ‘rats come to the point of demanding her wimpy vote she’ll fold like a cheap umbrella!

Snowe and Collins might have decided they’re interested in retaining their senate seats.

I suspect that all of the schemes to pass the health care bill are merely designed for fund raising appeals from moon bats. If they admit defeat the money dries up.

Actually, I saw Snowe on Greta’s show the other night and she explained how she was completely ignored by the democrats and how her suggestions were also voted down in committee and that her vote was never in play. She has been thoroughly disgusted throughout by both the cost and the partisanship and secret dealings. She said there’s no way this bill can be fixed and that it would be a waste of time to try.

This may be true TODAY.

Tomorrow is a new day and rinos are ever so pliable.

If this is true. Which I pray it is.

Snowe is not a conservative. Never was. Never will be. She has screwed conservatives at every turn. She will appear to be a little bit conservative in order to win re-election.

And then, she will go back to being a RINO with no conservative values.

She’s a career politician.

Just like ‘Sheets’....

She’s not a conservative, but for Maine, she’s more conservative than most. Would you rather she be voted out and a radical marxist put in her place?

I’d rather she was replaced by a conservative.

She votes with the left. In lock-step.

She provides no benefit to the conservative movement.

Me too.

Right now that's not possible.

And truthfully she only votes with the left about 25-30%.

She didn't and apparently isn't considering voting for the health care bill, which is a big benefit to the conservative movement, and America.

I don’t think she claims to be a conservative, does she?
She would have loved to have passed “a” healthcare plan, but this one got too costly, partisan and too corrupted. On Greta’s show, she went into detail about how put off she became as time went on and that her constituents would tell her ‘if you can’t understand the plan, we sure can’t’ and that said it all.

Darn it, you're really getting my hopes up; if this is really true, then that light coming toward us just might not be the proverbial train hurtling down the tracks at us.

I'm still going to keep my fingers crossed and say my prayers, though, just as insurance, mind you.

I can’t think of a one. Certainly not Cohen.

Not in a long time.

In the right circumstance they could elect a Scott Brown, who is probably more conservative than she is, but right now, it's not happening.

I'm just glad she held strong on the health care bill.

Feel free to ‘settle’ for Snowe.

I won’t.

Coleman lost to Franken because real conservatives stayed home...making it close enough to be stolen.

Well, yes, RWR won the state of Maine, but not as a US Senator. We’re discussing whether Snowe and Collins are as good as Maine will elect and I asked if Maine has ever elected a conservative US Senator? I can’t recall a one.

Silly post.

I'm not settling, I already agreed it would be nice to have a real conservative in her seat.

And what that has to do with Coleman/Franken, I can't say. Yes, Franken stole the election. What that has to do with Olympia Snowe, I have no idea.

LOL. I’m not “settling” for Snowe or Collins. I don’t live in Maine. I hope to be able to help defeat Boxer and that’ll be no easy task! We only have one conservative running in the primary. His name is Chuck DeVore. The other two challengers are “moderates” - Carly Fiorino and Tom Campbell.

Scott isn’t totally pro-choice. Some want to hash and rehash this talking point, ad nauseum. Some on here are one issue candidate supporters. Educate yourself about Scott’s position on abortion. He’s far more conservative on most issues than you give him credit for.

Being a conservative doesn’t mean we stand for just one issue.
