Polar Bear Hug (Awesome Photo's)
The Great White Hunter ^ | 2/1/10 | Ryan Benson

Posted on 02/01/2010 9:40:00 AM PST by Korah

Photographer Norbert Rosing, wanted to shoot some photos of some sled dogs with the sunset as a backdrop. So he found the perfect spot around Canada’s Hudson Bay. He had it all set up with a local who tethered his dogs to a stake for the shoot. The photographer set his equipment up at a distance to allow for the right effect from the sunset in the background and just as he was ready to begin the shoot, an unexpected visitor arrived.

What you will see in the accompanying photos is a polar bear doing something so unexpected, that it almost defies logic. The owner thought for sure his dogs were finished, but instead of showing up for dinner the Polar bear just wanted a hug. What happens should bring to remembrance Isaiah 11:6;

"The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
The leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
The calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them.”

One day this will be a reality and sights like these pictured will be the rule. From what the owner of the dogs said, the polar bear kept returning every evening for the next two weeks to play and get some love from his new found friend.

There's more photos here at the

This photo must be faked because Noah Wyle said all of the Polar Bears are stranded on ice bergs because of global warming.

Thus in fact it was before the flood and hopefully one day may be again.

I hope the Polar bear isn’t just feeling him up for fat content...

It's only a matter of time before the ice melts right out from under this polar bear too!

I hope these photos are real and not like the photos of the cheetah brothers “playing” with a baby impala that were posted in the UK Daily Mail yesterday.

I was thinking pretty much the same thing. Maybe more along the line of whether the dog would be better rare, medium or well...but not too far from your take.

Your handle speaks volumes.

Sweet Jesus.

There is a similar story out of Africa where a lioness stayed with a small gazelle and nurtured it while not eating for weeks. She literally almost starved herself to help this baby. Alas, she was too week to fend off a predator of her own species.

“The Lion laid down with the Lamb.”

I’m getting rather introspective lately. Please don’t flame away or take it personally.

Could this photo be taken close to the melting glaciers?

Wonder if it was a female bear who had lost her cubs. (Bears typically give birth to two cubs every year in spring.)

This polar bear is worth saving ... He is a victim of man.

This one is not ... He is an Evil Nazi-esque Hunter.
