Could Al Qaeda Blow Up LNG Tankers on 2/11?

I was listening to a debate on talk radio whether two Liquefied natural gas (LNG) Tankers should be allowed into Boston harbor on 2/11/10. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino had asked that they not be allowed in due to security concerns. But others say it's perfectly safe, that there's plenty of security and so on.

And my first impulse was to think, how likely is it that there would be such an attack on a known target with everyone watching?

As Rumsfeld famously said, "We don't know what we don't know."

Generally speaking, whatever you believe the terrorists may try, it's likely something else.

That’s the Terminal we get our gas from. My friend Michelle lives right where they make the turn under the Mystic River Bridge. A few years ago, one got away from the Tugs and almost ran aground 50 yards from the balcony. We’ve always heard that if the terminal blew up, it takes out a ten mile radius.

But he does '''know'''',

And yes, we have tons of it, more than we use leaks out of mountains, if the greenies only knew.

Now you know why “they” ‘’’’know’’’’ , it’s the only thing “they” could think of that could top the Tower show.

Despite our vast reserves, our capacity to recover or harvest those reserves is outpaced by our demand. Ergo, we have to import it to meet demand.

I’ve seen relatively small LNG pipelines blow. (some idiot with a backhoe) Looked like a small nuke went off.

"And who do we get it from?"

With the exception of Australia, almost all from 2nd & 3rd world countries most of which are located in Eastern & Northern Africa and Asia.

Canada too. I forgot Canada, which might be the largest source of our foreign LNG imports.

There are a million different things they can blow up or do... it’s just a matter of their will and resources versus our will and resources.

That's why it will prolly be LNG, can't beat the effect , plus it's cheap and very expendable ( just like the Towers).

Every 'buddy' has a budget, after all , even Sneakyman Inc..
