CROCODILE TEARS:Mary Landrieu's Emotional Defense of "Louisiana Purchase"

Poor Mary Landrieu, yesterday she emotionally critics of " Louisiana Purchase" a $3-400 Million costly Medicaid provision she got for her home state in exchange for her vote for cloture to allow the health-care bill to reach the senate floor.

In a 30-minute Senate floor speech, Landrieu described how a faulty Medicaid formula for her state, related to a surge in federal aid following Hurricane Katrina, had created a Medicaid funding gap of up to $600 million. She provided letters and other documents to show support from Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal and GOP members of the Louisiana congressional delegation, including Sen. David Vitter, who voted against the Senate bill.

She claims that Louisiana’s Medicaid expenses increased dramatically following Hurricane Katrina. How can this be? Thousands of citizens that required Medicaid were flown, bused and given train rides out of New Orleans to every nook and cranny in this country.

I would think that the Medicaid expenditures would have increased in the states that took the storm evacuees. I would also think that the Medicaid expenses in Louisiana would have decreased along with decreases in food stamps, WIC and all other government welfare programs. We aren’t talking a few thousand transfers. We are talking a couple of hundred thousand.

She portrayed herself as the victim. LOL. The whore made her bed, now let her sleep in it.

I watched, what a baby. No back room deal my foot.

She learned back room politics from her daddy “Moon” Landrieu late mayor of New Orleans. If she knows nothing else she knows how that works. We tried to tell her not to sell out her country but she wouldn’t listen. I hope her children and grandchildren will equally share the tax burden she helped put on us if the HC bill passes. We WILL find someone to beat her in 2012!

That's what I hear. That young reporter that was arrested, can't remember his name, God bless him, said that's why they went in to check the phones because people were complaining that they couldn't get through to her.

I think the dems have over played there hand for to long and got real brazen, over confident and cocky, when they took the WH, House and Senate. This really could end up being a blessing, although it doesn't appear that way right now. I think the dems are done.

I can personally attest to the fact she was avoiding constituents like the plague. I finally got someone to answer locally and I protested government run health care. The young man who answered snidely asked Well do you want government out of Medicare and Medicaid as well? I answered, I don’t want government to run any of our programs because they can’t run anything effectively - including a failing postal services. You are right the Dems jumped the shark and, I agree, it was a blessing for all to see just who they really are and what they really believe. I don’t like the pain we are going through but I believe there will be a light in November 2010. And, hopefully in 2012 we can finally rid ourselves of Landrieu!
