Retard-gate is growing, apparently, and it's coming to the Connecticut Senate race over the mistreatment of a developmentally disabled wrestling character that Senate candidate Linda McMahon's entertainment company created in 2004.
For those of you unaware, wrestling queen Linda McMahon, former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, is running for the Senate in Connecticut against conservative Rob Simmons.
As it happens, starting in 2004 McMahon's wrestling shows once featured what was presented as a mentally handicapped wrestler who was stage named "Eugene." Through the course of this character’s story arc he was savagely beaten in a "cage match," and was regularly verbally abused by other characters...

Anyone who takes a professional wrestling storyline seriously does not have the intelligence to be allowed to vote.
How terrible, the WWE gave a mentaly retarded person an acting job and a paycheck.
But enough about the McMahons.
They are leaving out the Samoans and George The Animals Steel.
Ok, here is what I remeber about the character of Eugene. He was verbally abused by his his “uncle” Eric Bischoff and a guy called “the Coach”. Eugene ended up winning a match at which point in time he got his revenge on both Bischoff and Coach. He also ended up having all the “good guy” popular wrestlers being his friends.
Now if you want to attack Linda McMahon, talk about the incest and necrophilia angles, Vince making Trish Stratus strip and crawl around like a dog and even bark, the “gay wedding” of billy and chuck, the 80 year-old woman getting 3-d’ed through a table, and her son getting jumper cables attached to his nutsack. That’s not even including the kiss my @$$ club, the straight edge getting pinned by the guy whose charcter is based of a drugged out rock star who O.D.’ed in a bathtub, the whole steroid issue, the edge-lita live sex show, and countless “contests” where the divas end up nearly naked, the undertaker burying Paul Bearer, kane killing his parents, and lest we forgt, the Undertaker, after beating Daivari, is attacked by “terrorists” who proceed to “garrote” him in the middle of the ring at the urging of “Mohammad Hassan”.
However, this is all FICTION. This would be like saying Arnold Schwarzeneager should not be the governor because he played a character that killed people in the Terminator.
If they are focusing on Eugene, CT is more messed up than I thought.
You missed the point. The article was not taking wrestling seriously at all. It was saying that if the anti-retard crowd wants something to get upset about the McMahon story should do it.
