He is the ultimate multitasker, always there for whoever turns to Him, never too busy for us.

But who are you to make that assumption? He’s been married to the same woman for decades. Maybe it tell me something about you?

Let’s just say, I am just sceptical of people who spend a big part of their lives living contrary Christian principles, but then turn round and “discover Christ” when they are put in jail or when they are too old to be doing much sinning.

We might diminish sinning as we get older, but we have to live with the sins of our youth.

Praise God that this prodigal son has come home.

Good for you, Ringo...very VERY wise decision you’ve made. Walk with your Lord...you’ll NOT regret this decision!

Oh no:

Matthew 10:
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Ringo was very important to God, as we all are.

At least for people who are in jail, I think it is a rock bottom place. In jail, it may be, that God has the ability to “speak” and you have no choice but to hear. The same situation may hold for people as they get older. The soul has time to hear.

I know what you mean there. That is what the grace of God is for. We all have made so many mistakes, both willingly and unwillingly, that we can never make amends. Its a very humbling and embarrassing realization. There are some things I can not forgive myself for, I'm just praying God will.

The Catholic Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the greatest gifts God has opened my eyes to. And He did it again today:

My confessor exhorted to be a peacemaker, instead of focusing so much on winning an argument. In the 15-20 minutes before Mass, I opened up my bible, stopping first at Psalm 51, one of my favorites. Then I flipped over to the Book of Matthew, and came across the Beatitudes: blessed are the peacemakers.... WHAM!!!!

Talk about having a great day!!!

Correction: God never "lost" Ringo - Ringo lost his way to God.

When people tell you that, "I feel far from God," or that, "God just doesn't seem to hear me."

The answer is: God never moved, He's here all the time. It's only we who move away from God. He waits for us to need to "find" Him again.

That usually happens when some decision or other we've made (without direction from God) produces much pain, misery or total collapse for us; we turn to God and ask, "How could you cause 'that' happen (to me)?"

His answer, "Sometimes you want your own way so badly, that I allow you to have it."

It's during those times, generally, that we "find our way back to God" and realize that He has been there all of the time waiting for us to look for Him.

If we look for Him, we always find Him.

P.S.- All’s forgiven. It’s the least I can do in celebrating Starr’s conversation...

Might consider that God uses people’s failings, going to jail, divorce, drug addictions, etc to get their attention. Sometimes people have to hit bottom before they will listen.
