No wonder Focus on the Family did NOT show the ad prior to its release. They got the pro-aborts to go crazy over an ad that doesn’t even address abortion at all. Nice work Focus.

The women’s groups really stepped in it. They were played like a fiddle, and provided much more interest and publicity for the ad than Tebow and Focus on the Family could have ever hoped for.

The ad was meaningless without the publicity. However, as it stands, it makes a very powerful statement. Without any reference to abortion at all.

Really quite a clever approach, and as you said, plays the so-called 'women's groups' like a fiddle.

I found it hysterical that the counter was a “dating ad” that was never submitted to CBS but the MSM bought the propaganda fake but accurate point hook line and sinker.

My understanding is that he has already removed himself from the NFL draft and plans to devote his time to missionary work. What an incredible young man! He sure has his priorities right!!! Great training, Mr. & Mrs. Tebow!!!

They never had the moral high ground on this issue and now they’ve lost credibility too.

Where did you hear that?

Did they make a comment on the Betty White tackle in the Snickers ad? I assume they didn’t care about Abe Vigoda getting flattened in the same ad of course.

Bookmarking to watch later. I fast forwarded through most of the commercials last night.

One of few I saw was the VW commercial with the “Green Police”. It was meant to be satirical but there was a hint of truth to it.

“Why did the liberal world lose its collective mind over this?”

Because, like the very volatile and unstable nitroglycerine, the liberal collective mind is always on the brink of breaking down and exploding, having a very tenuous connection to the stable foundation of reality.

I think they'll urge Snickers to run an ad in which Betty White flattens Abe Vigoda. That "undercurrent of violence" probably wouldn't faze them. They'd cast White as the pro-abortion crusader trashing a white, patriarchal pro-lifer.

I don’t know the way the draft works, but my guess is, if it cost him at all, it probably cost him with people he’d really prefer not to be involved with anyway.

I got alot of flak for suggesting Tebow lowered his draft ranking by doing the commercial...

Sorry, but I think coaches were already looking for reasons to not draft Tebow in the first round...criticizing his throwing style. Remember, Rush Limbaugh was too ‘controversial’ for the NFL. What coach wants planned parenthood protesting their practices, or wants to be the one who has to order Tebow to quit putting bible verses on his eyeblack.

I’m not knocking Tebow - I think its great that he doesn’t care...but in the thug culture of the NFL, he will be the odd man out, and some coaches will pass on him.

Actually, I heard it on ESPN about a month ago but haven’t heard anything lately. However, I did google Tim and found he denied being drafted in 2009 but will probably participate in 2010. I should have googled first and posted later.....sorry!!!

I spent a bit of time in the advertising world and it is my judgement that this guy is absolute gold.

It is not a coincidence that record tv viewings occurred when his ad appeared. Not a coincidence at all.

He’ll go quite high in the draft.

Ah, man. Are YOU a BLOG PIMP too?

FR has become THE site to promote individuals’ websites....

It’s become exhausting to sift through all these crap sites built by self-promoting profiteers....

Theo - if you go to the site you’re trashing you’ll find it is not a blog but rather a daily newspaper which contains around 27,000 articles, and employs over 100 writers. Check their contributors. Why don’t you avoid the liberal mistake of speaking with NO FACTS.

I post these article here because this is my home town newspaper and they stand up for FAITH and CONSERVATIVE belief. Why are you here, just to complain about the work others are doing?

My problem is when someone ONLY posts articles from ONE blog or minor website, and when the person only includes an EXCERPT, and when those “articles” are primarily opinion pieces or blogs that simply repeat what’s already been said elsewhere.

That’s what you’re doing — promoting *your* pet site. I see a motive behind your submitting these pieces to FR, beyond simply wanting to serve the community and facilitate discussion.

Can you tell me what your relationship is with TheCypressTimes.com ? Are you on staff there?
