Jindal is good for Louisiana. . he is doing a very good job there. He doesn’t seem to be Presidential timber, not even VP timber.
Keep in mind that McCain's "win" was pre-arranged. (Just like Bob Dole).
Jindal is good for Louisiana.
Didn’t he give his approval to Mary Landreaux for the “Louisiana Purchase”?
I agree, Duncan Hunter is the best man to run for President since Ronald Reagan. I hope he finds a way to get the support that puts him in the running, if he tries again.
Going back to the GOP Debate in Iowa, The show of hands question on Climate Change - who’s hands do you see up or going up before Fred Thompson saves their butts with his were not doing hand shows reply?
Question - Is Global Climate Change a Serious threat and caused by man?
Yes (hands up) - McCain, Rudy, Huckabee, Romney.
Partially agrees - Hunter (based later on comments made)
Fred Thompson is the biggest reason (next to the media) that McCain won the primary.
WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina (CNN) - Fred Thompson made his first public appearance since dropping out of the presidential race Tuesday, using his conservative credentials to backstop a major speech Tuesday from presumptive Republican nominee John McCain on judicial appointments.
Thompson, seated behind McCain on stage and rocking back in his arm chair, grinned as McCain called him an old and very dear friend
After the speech, Thompson will attend a fundraiser, then take a ride on the Straight Talk Express with McCain and reporters.
When the former star of TV’s “Law and Order” series and newly-minted presidential candidate spoke to reporters on the porch of the Grand Hotel here, I asked Thompson whether he was proud of his role in enacting the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform legislation in ‘01.
“Yes,” replied the former Tennessee senator without hesitation.
Hunter does not partially agree with manmade global warming in the least. Never has. He said it was unknowable whether man made pollution has contibuted to the miniscule rise in temps
He was my first choice, too, last time around. I spent some time getting signatures to try to get him on the ballot in Virginia. We didn’t make it. He just didn’t light peoples’ fire. This time around (2012) I would like to see Dick Armey make a run. More name recognition; credibility on fiscal discipline, no negatives.

This is the crappola we are up against. People have NO clue who they’re voting for. They just fall back to the same old traitors who got us in this mess. Armey is an open border old fool and loves every lopsided trade deal to come down the pike!

Most ‘republicans’ could care less if we get a conservative in office! They just want a ‘winner’, no matter how awful he/she might be. In 25 years of watching congress work, 2 men have come out of it worth a tinker’s damn...Duncan Hunter and Jim Inhofe.

With the party groupies, major issues like our borders, the size of government, government corruption and government spending mean very little...In fact, most of them avoid these issues like the plague....For good reason.
I like Hunter and in fact, had the opportunity to meet his son at a gun show when he was running for office. But, I really have strong reservations about people who have no executive experience becoming President. Look at what we have now and before that JFK made a lot of mistakes when he first took office. Being a legislator is not the same as being an executive. If Hunter got some experience as a mayor or governor then I would have no problems. That being said, he’d be infinitely better than what we have.
Hunter got zero traction last time, but I suspect this time around Republicans are going to pay a lot more attention (which is not good for folks like Romney).
But, with Palin out there getting a lot of attention, I think our best hope to get the pair together on the ticket (though I do question if Palin is even running, or just giving the left a target).
That was part of the problem, but part of the problem was that Duncan Hunter never really fleshed out his positions on any issues other than (1) National Defense (2) the Border Fence, and (3) Trade with China. His website had some good positions and he made a prolife statement or two in the debates but other than that he didn’t really get a broad enough message out. I know that he has an excellent prolife record and lots of other good positions as well. However, he let himself be defined as a one dimensional candidate who only cared about defense, trade, and the border fence.
Well, that’s partly true. For 2 reasons. One, he did not have the $$ to run a series of ads to cover all the issues, and two, despite his efforts to spread the message, he was IGNORED completely by the MSM and the conservative media.
Just go back and find his Wyoming speech before a very enthusiastic crowd where he told them in detail his plans for energy - yes it included lots of Wyoming coal. (crickets)
He was one of the lead speakers at the big FairTax rally. He participated in the March for Life and other pro-life events. (crickets)
He gave a couple of stellar interviews on the 2nd Amendment to bloggers (crickets)
He was the only one to advocate the complete elimination of taxes on US manufacturers and said so in an awesome speech in Michigan(crickets)
He was the only one to stand up and defend Gen Peter Pace who came under fire from the lefties and pink mafia over his statement that homosexuality is immoral and incompatible with Military life (crickets)
He was the only one to demand Harry Reid resign for stating “we lost the war”. (crickets)
He was the staunchest advocate for freeing Ramos and Compean, the BP agents (crickets)
He was certainly the only one warning about China’s military (crickets)
He was the only one to come on to FR and give a wide ranging interview.
I wrote to Coulter, Malkin, Schlafly, Ingraham many times asking them to do a “women for Hunter” event. (crickets)
But you are correct. In the limited time he was given at debates or on TV, he had to repeat his main three points. But what were McCain’s main points? Uh, uh, I have no idea. Maybe earmark reform?
How about Mitt’s? RomneyCare? Executive experience?
Huck’s? I haven’t a clue, though he started aping Hunter’s ideas.
Rudy’s? National Security (why he thought he was qualified is beyond me, I don’t think he ever shot a bb gun).
Fred? Federalism?
We certainly can’t. And won’t.
With two sons who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan to boot.
I sure hope so. Hopefully 2010 will bring in enough conservatives to kill Obama’s agenda till then
Either could mitt, huck, fred, tanc, rudy.
That would be fine by me. Or DeMint in the mix.
