Here is video of Michelle Obama on Larry King last night where she was asked to give "her read" on former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
She responded, "I don't have a read," because she said she tries not to comment on someone who she has not really had any "personal interaction" with.
King tried again, but Michelle Obama again said, "I don't know her," and refused to really answer the question.
She also went on to discuss childhood obesity, and commented about her own children and their pediatrician pulling her aside to tell her that the "BMI" (Body Mass Index) of her own kids had "ticked up" back during the Presidential Campaign. . . . (VIDEO)
Interesting how the media always try to gin up cat fights. I’ll have to give Michele credit for not taking the bait.
maybe one member of the administration is smart enough not to get in a pig wrestling match. I am surprised Michelle has so much self control.
Say what you want about Michelle, she is finally learning about life in the fishbowl. Shows the lack of depth of Obama’s political experience that she didn’t need to learn to be diplomatic in IL, and that it took being first lady to have such on-the-job experiences.
18 Months ago, I am certain Michelle would have happily opened her hole to call Palin a “racist” a “hater” and a bunch of other nonsense.
btt
Sarah is probably one of the top three most powerful people in America ... if not THE most powerful.
Any man the scorns her, secretly desires her ... any woman that derides her, secretly envies her and we whom love her .... love her.
I'm anxious for the election momentum to get going ... this is gonna' be FUN !
Those children were perfect during the campaign. It was after the move into the White House where they were waited on hand and foot that they all began to pork up.
Michelle can read?......
Apparently she has better political instincts than the Boy President.
I am not really familiar with Sarah. Why do some people see her as such a threat? Can somebody tell which Federal agencies, bureaus, offices, administrations or departments that she wants to eliminate?
Agreed. Michelle Ping.
Sarah Palin may be influential, but she has no power. I hope she does some day.
Michelle Obama does not “have a clue” when it comes to anything
Hi, silverleaf.
I'm not surprised that Michelle refused to comment - Larry King is NO match for Michelle Obama, LOL - just think of how she felt when LAURA BUSH, of all people came to her defense when the press was trying to savage her over the "I'm SO proud" comment.
The press sucks, the mainstream media is simply ridiculous, and perhaps the only member of the media who truly understands that the public fails to share its good opinion of itself is the newly joined Governor Sarah Palin.
Michelle Obama was simply muzzzled by the Dems after the press went after her, and the Dems turned the first interesting character in American politics, in decades, into a Black Fashion Queen Motherbee who chatted about coordinating colors and be sure to eat your veggies.
Everybody who's a liberal progressive, including Michelle Obama is continually talking about what a genius her husband is, but I think not -- but I do believe that he married a very smart woman, someone far smarter than he, she's lightyears ahead of her hubbie in intelligence --- and incidentally, after the White House Party Crasher Incident, it looks like Michelle Obama started dressing herself again, so she again looks like she did way back in the early days of the 2008 campaign -- instead of those horrific ugly creations all those weird jealous fashionistas have been dressing her in, trying to make her look utterly ugly.
I sometimes wonder if Michelle is an ACTIVE LURKER on FR, because her "new" old look arose after a number of threads here where lots of posters felt that people like Jarrett and Oprah and her weird Social Secretary -- I forget the name, the woman who's proud of being a descendant of New Orlean's Voodoo Queen Marie Laveax, were intentionally dressing her up to look just NASTY..... rofl.
Larry King wanted a Sound.Byte and Michelle wouldn't let him have one, good for her. CNN sucks.
OK, it doesn’t matter the adjective used, though I can argue influence IS power.
I agree. You know Larry was hoping for some nasty, catty comment and Michelle didn’t oblige him. Good for her.
Ditto.
The truth is, Palin is one of the most open & guileless people in politics; getting a “read” on her is easy if you don’t have the warped mindset of a Chicago pol.
But she was right to leave it alone.
The wookie cannot even read.
LLS
I was surprised that a person in her position as first lady would use the word “ain’t”.
Larry King’s annoying. I’ve seen him try this with numerous people. He asks them a controversial question, they don’t want to answer it, so he rephrases the same question several different times to see if they’ll answer it. It get’s annoying.
Larry King—the only hing holding him upright are those damn suspenders.
All of them? /sarc

1. A list needs to be made of all the citizens (PRIVATE CITIZENS IN A DEMOCRACY) who are commented on from the press room of the White House and also by the FLOTUS. I believe an argument could be made that this is highly irregular and extremely frightening.
2. All kidding aside, it was Chewbacca who helped Yoda remain out of the clutches of the evil empire.
Her not having a comment is the most sensible thing to come from the region of the WH in ages. I’m glad she took the high road on that one.
