Explosive information hit the radio airwaves today as it was revealed that Texas gubernatorial candidate Debra Medina appeared to confirm in an interview that she is a so-called '9/11 truther.' The interview was conducted by Glenn Beck on the radio.

Immediately the Internet was burning up with quick responses both from Medina supporters and from those who jumped to the conclusion that the candidate had 'outed' herself as part of a movement which believes that the U.S. government had a hand in bringing about the terrorist attack on 9/11.

To get a feel for how reasonable the answer is, I like to modify the exchange with something we would all agree upon:

It is an absurd answer to the question in this case. Is it equally absurd regarding the question asked? I think so.

When Glenn asked her to tell everyone who she is and something about her background, she didn’t give a very good answer either. Mostly talking points.
He asked it more than once and she equivocated more than once.
Not that I want to defend her, but it sounded as if she was so prepared to get out her talking points about Gov. Rick Perry she simply wouldn't or couldn't concentrate on what she was being asked.
That being said, she blew it big time on a nationally syndicated radio show and did not take the chance to absolutely distance herself from the Truther kooks!
I am from Texas and her candidacy as an outsider really looked appealing to me. Not any longer!

Asking “do you think the cock that crowed this morning is in ANY way responsible for the sun rising in the east” would be more accurate.
Whether it was a set-up is entirely irrelevant. He’s not a ventriliquist ... she answered the question WRONG. If it was a set-up, and she wasn’t a nutjob, then it would’ve been an easy landmine to sidestep.
Unfortunately for her (and her few remaining supporters) it turns out she IS a nutjob.

Let’s face facts - Glenn Beck asked a simple question, and Medina used the opportunity to demonstrate that she’s a nutter.
Proof positive that just because a candidate is “anti-establishment” doesn’t mean they’re anyone you want to vote for.
I never said Palin was a moron. I like both her and Medina. the only moron around here is Beck.
