Here is video of Dana Perino - former Press Secretary for President George W. Bush - explaining to Megyn Kelly why comparisons by the Left between the "Shoe Bomber -Richard Reid," and the "Underwear Bomber" - Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, are like "comparing apples and oranges." Perino explained that the Shoe Bomber attack happened only two months after 9/11, and there was no apparatus set up to deal with enemy combatants. The Obama Administration deliberately bypassed all the avenues of interrogation and places for holding enemy combatants and chose to mirandize Abdulmutallab with less than an hour of questioning.
Perino said the Bush Administration would have treated Abdulmutallab very differently than they treated Reid - because of all that has been learned during the intervening years. The Obama Administration chose to ignore all of that and go their own way.
Yeah, our “Failed Policies of the Past” administration has excused Mirandizing Underwear Bomber because Reid was Mirandized.
This administration was only interested in convicting this guy, not fighting a war on terror. So naturally with all the eyewitnesses and other evidence it would take less than an hour to get enough information to convict him.
War on terror? What war on terror? That came as an after thought when the Republicans jumped all over their handling of this case.
With the Democrats all is politics and power. National security is incidental. Do they want another terrorists attack? Seems like it and they say we WILL have one.
That would present a wonderful excuse to declare martial law and postpone elections.
