GOP Must Go Into Health Care Meetings With the Knowledge That it is a Trap

We’re going to have to keep one thing in mind; when the Democrats are saying “bipartisan,” they are, as usual, lying. They are attempting, rather poorly, to make the appearance of bipartisanship, but they are doing so from their pompous, elitist, mindset. They are still in the opinion that they are in complete control, and their agenda has primacy. They do this in complete ignorance, willful or otherwise, of the polls and recent elections.

TOPICS: Government; Politics
KEYWORDS: 111th; bipartisanship; democrats; gophealthcare; lies; republicans
I'm thinking that they Dems are in complete ignorance of what is going on outside of DC, and are on a collision course with reality.

“Trap”? No. It’s going to be pathetic grandstanding by Obama and Democrat Congressional leaders......period. That....does not a trap make.

A trap is usually used to secure one’s prey....securing the prey to kill it (for food or otherwise). If Obama and Co. believe they’ll “kill” the GOP’s opposition to Obamacare with such ridiculously obvious showmanship, they can forget it. Too many are now savvy to their lame tactics, and Fox News, talk radio, and the Internet will be scrutinizing their every word, every gesture.

Truth is, this is the dumbest move Obama could possibly have made.

Rush has said this for a couple of WEEKS. WE have known this to be true too.

Why is it that our elected ‘leaders’ fail to grasp the obvious so darn often? Is is REALLY that hard?

Any idiot knows this is a trap, we don't need Rush to tell us. So you're out in the woods walking along and you spot a clamp trap, all nicely baited. And it could probably cut your leg off if you stepped on it. What do you do? (1) Some would walk away, (2) some would ignore it and step in it, and (3) some would get a big stick and poke it rendering it harmless. It seems like the potential Republican tactical options are not so different. My choice, poke it with a stick ... and this one is easy with TV cameras watching. Just Poke It! (nice battle cry, I think!)

So what "stick" would you use?

Zippy has three purposes:
1. look presidential (with the reverb turned up on his mic, with 20 staffers manning teleprompter keyboards, with the equivalent of the Greek columns behind him),
2. make the GOP look mean/uninformed/not-very-cool (the stage set and the press will take care of that),
3. isolate and demonize Rep. Paul Ryan (our weaker sisters in the GOP will oblige, once they understand their marching orders).

Yep, exactly, and it’s a trap whether they go or not. If they don’t go, the dems will say, “See, they’re being partisan. How can we work with these people?”

The 'rats lead by the socialist obama have several objectives:

They want to be able to tout to their lap-dog press that they are "bipartisan."

They are simply going to re-state their own ridiculous big-government socialist plan. Maybe couched in new terms/language, maybe not even bother to do that.

They are going to attempt to bribe (no other word for it) as many potential GOP supporters as they can.

If/when this cheap trick fails, they are going to scream "obstructionists!" from the rooftops. They are too out of touch to know that most Americans will applaud the GOP for being "obstructionist" to this monster.

They will bend over and sniff the bait. Unfortunatly the trap will spring and cut off their heads. Yes they are that stupid.

Bipartisan to Democrats means you go along with what we want, period. No meeting halfway or even partway.

The GOP leaders have to go along with this sham of a meeting or they will get skewered. After it’s over, there will be a race to the microphones and Obama will win. He’ll brand the GOP as uncooperative and obstructionist and tout himself as being reasonable and willing to hear other ideas.

The GOP’s debriefing of the meeting will be lucky to get 10 seconds of prime time news coverage.

I hope the meeting is televised because when Obama went and talked with the GOP at that conference a couple of weeks ago, he looked mean and petty. He hasn’t changed.

FTA: The Democrats called the GOP the “party of no” all last year

I've always thought Republicans should embrace the "Party of No" label, just change the spelling to "Party of Know"...

We Know the People's Will
We Know the Country must be saved

Rename, repackage, rewrite it a tad smaller, and sell another pig in a poke.

Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

New Dem mantra: Woof, woof eat dog food granny....ala let them eat cake.

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

The “stick” I’d use is simple: logic. The libs are wholly incapable of using logic or reason; they emote.....period. I’d force them to, in their own words, lay bare their true “feelings”, especially concerning the Constitutionality of all this Obamacare mess.
