This is the third in a series. (Read The Baby Gianna Story Part I, The Baby Gianna Story Part II)

Jessica Chominski delivered this eulogy for Baby "Miracle Gianna:"

On January 9, the world changed forever because of a baby girl. I know that many of you do not know the whole story of Miracle Gianna. Many of you have been praying for her fervently- praying for her to heal, praying for her to be OK, praying for her to live.

We have all had a piece of this story, which on the outside, looks like a tragic, sad, devastating defeat. But this is not a story of defeat. This is a story of triumph- the triumph of Baptism.

When she was born, the doctors handed her to me to hold, and I have never felt more humbled and fearful in my life. I was not afraid...

From part 1: “When Rebecca’s boyfriend learned of her decision he repeatedly and savagely kicked her in the stomach.”

I am absolutely anti-abortion. I am not absolutely pro-life. I do not think that all life is sacred and must be protected at all costs. For example, the scum-sucker boyfriend of Rebecca’s....if someone like this did something like that to a family member of mine, I would have no second thoughts about taking a life!

It is what it is. Evil deserves only to be wiped out.

Read all three parts — wonderful. I sincerely hope it helps change the law and culture of Catholic hospitals, which, the article indicates, are legally compelled to rent space in their office buildings to doctors with any set of beliefs and practices. The article doesn’t say whether this is specific to Pennsylvania law, or common to all states under civil rights statutes.

Either way, what I pray for is that the killing of a fetus will no longer be tolerated, regardless of religion, in the United States. As long as this issue remains linked to religion, it will continue to be fought against successfully in courts and legislatures, as will homosexuality. Only when secularists recognize the essential evil of lowering the life standard will we have any thing resembling peace on this issue.

Wow. Beautiful story. I’m so glad the mother chose life, and it sounds like she has come back to God through this child. She’s also touched others and drawn attention to Catholic hospitals advising abortion. God works in mysterious but wonderful ways. I know that baby is in Heaven with him today.
