Disappointing McCain Push to Ban Supplements & Herbs
Resistnet.com ^ | 2-15-10 | Mary Conley, MNH, ND

Posted on 02/17/2010 1:35:58 PM PST by molybdenum

Once again herbalists, health food consumers, and those who wish an alternate choice for their own healthcare decisions are under fire. It seems John McCain of all people wants to ban supplements and herbs from health food stores and in commercial establishments. This is an extreme disappointment. John McCain had stood by the Conservative base in opposing all things Obama, but this seems to be a huge jump on the Obama bandwagon that is limping along to take our health freedoms away. Maybe its time for McCain to retire? Please contact your reps to oppose this. ttp://www.resistnet.com/profiles/blog/

McCain again--this time with a bill telling us we shouldn't use products from healthfood stores. Is he in bed with Big Pharma?

The problem with the link seems to be at the source. I’ll try to find a different one and change it.

In a way, yes. I think the real problem here is what got him in the Keating 5: He’s not very bright.

If the FDA regulates supplements they will die, after all they are the same people who say all you need is 60 mg of Vitamin C.

Physicians prescribed meds for my cardiac arrythmia over 15 years ago...nothing worked. Someone suggested I try a certain supplement. It worked, and I can’t imagine life without it! I take it everyday. If I skip a day, the irregular heartbeat returns.

The supplement has no side effects whatsoever.

I’m hoping I can see a “Thank You Arizona” billboard next to the “ Thank You Massachusetts” billboard outside Allentown PA.
When we get rid of Benedict Arlan ( Spinchter ) you can put up a “Thank You Pennsylvania” billboard.

Think of all the jobs and businesses involved in the processing, bottling & distribution of health foods, the advertising, the stores—and in a major recession, he wants to take down a thriving industry. And regulate and restrict our lives!

That is wonderful! And I saw statistics that showed deaths due to prescription drug was well over 200,000 a year but NO deaths from products used from health food industry. Most doctors, when you mention even Vit. C, they don’t reply —because they did not study natural substances and have Big Pharma pushing them.

With all the issues facing this country, I would think that vitamins would be at or near the bottom of the list.

Now that the global warming political fraud has been exposed, can we throw away their worthless energy saving light bulbs that are an environmental hazard if broken?

What a screwed up world.

Putting supplements and herbs into your body is a bad thing, but putting a mans penis into another mans anus is not only a good thing, it should be taught in public schools.

Some days I am surprised that God hasn’t decided to start all over again with the dinosaurs.... at least they were funny to look at.

Absolutely! When I told the physician to whom I was going at the time (Chief of Cardiology at a well known university hospital), he actually laughed and belittled me. Needless to say, that was my last visit to him!

I found a cardiologist in NYC who encouraged me to increase my dosage of the supplement because of its benefits to the heart! A rare MD!

“Is he in bed with Big Pharma?”

You bet. The real reason for the “health care reform” bill, ie, governement takeover of health care, is to keep the medical/pharmaceutical machine, representing hundreds of billions of dollars, thriving.

If big pharma stays uncontrolled, subject to market forces, it will start shrinking. Alternative health care is around a 50 billion dollar a year industy and growing.

Despite the constant bombardment of drug propoganda on the MSM, Americans are waking up to the fact that illness does not equal a drug deficiency.

He is rare! A ‘rogue’ doctor. I had one for several years, then she retired; I would tell her about large doses of Vit C when I had a bad cold or flu, she approved, even would recommend natural products. And she was concerned about too frequent X-rays, antibiotics and the like.

“John McCain had stood by the Conservative base in opposing all things Obama”

Mary Conley needs to remember to take her ginko biloba.

He's crossed the aisle to work with the Dark Side more often than he has worked with his own side.

Only now that he faces a tough primary challenge does this chameleon try to start looking like a conservative.

Amen to that. The bureaucrats would even try to control what we plant, what animals we raise, how much fatty food we eat.. by labeling the contents of every product, it increases the cost, but that’s the least of it. Their game is control.

Actually there is no issue, if you mean, is this necessary? It’s only necessary to him to help out Big Medicine. Or it could just be McCain, trying to needle us. But there would be job loss for sure, adding to unemployment; small business would take a hit. There are far more deaths from prescription drugs than deaths due to natural products, if any.

Ten years ago, I wound up in the hospital when a virus somehow got into my heart and badly damaged it.

The woman doctor on duty in the ICU told me to take COQ-10, or coenzyme 10 three times a day. My damaged heart returned to normal....a complete recovery, in a matter of months.

Conventional medicine’s cure for the condition would have been a heart transplant! No thanks.

COQ-10 can be bought over the counter at any drug store or supermarket. I purchase mine in bulk at Sam’s Club, and still take it to this day.
