Does it have something to do with FaceBook?
“refusal to have a newborn incarcerated in a NICU”
No inflammatory wording there, nope nope.
Well wake up Jenny Hatch and smell the “Uniform Child Abduction Prevention Act” (aka UCAPA).
It is not JUST on medical health care that the government is seeking to take control of our lives. It is across the board.
The UCAPA law they are seeking to pass this year in 8 states (and is already law in 8 states) is a big step towards totalitarian government.
Under this law, they can take your kids from you because you picked up their school records or medical records.
WATCH OUT. WAKE UP.
If you have an issue with chemotherapy or some extreme measure, you should be able to refuse it.
If you want to go on living as long as possible and do not want the Giant Shot Of Morphine, you should be able to refuse it.
I want to pay for my own health care, and I want to receive fair value for what I pay for. Nothing more, nothing less.
For me, the most troublesome aspect is what to do with kids that need advanced medical treatment. If the parents have reasons for wanting to refuse the treatment, I would tend to leave that in the hands of the parents rather than taking the child away and allowing the politicians to make the decision in loco parentis. But I believe that is a minority view around here.

Rename, repackage, rewrite it a tad smaller, and sell another pig in a poke.
Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

Obama says slight fix will extend Social Security
TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:
This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollees cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases
By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009
Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.
The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.
Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.
President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees in fiscal 2010, Matz said. We took them at their word, and I cant believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward, he added.
Bambi doesn't keep his promises...so buyer beware
Facism down the Hatch, as we say.
This MediCare rationing below will affect a friend of ours who by no fault of his own lost both kidneys at a young age during a triple A heart surgery. The physician did not watch his BP and it dropped drastically. Kidneys took a hit and he is on dialysis for life now. Akways talk to the anesthiologist and the physician before surgery. Know who they are and if you don’t like their answers, find someone else.
