If you have an issue with chemotherapy or some extreme measure, you should be able to refuse it.
If you want to go on living as long as possible and do not want the Giant Shot Of Morphine, you should be able to refuse it.
I want to pay for my own health care, and I want to receive fair value for what I pay for. Nothing more, nothing less.
For me, the most troublesome aspect is what to do with kids that need advanced medical treatment. If the parents have reasons for wanting to refuse the treatment, I would tend to leave that in the hands of the parents rather than taking the child away and allowing the politicians to make the decision in loco parentis. But I believe that is a minority view around here.
I just want he Gov’t the hell out of my life. Period.
“But I believe that is a minority view around here.”
It feels like it is a minority view around here simply because Free Republic is riddled with big pharma paid trolls who show up every time someone posts ANYTHING on health care or drugs. They swarm around the thread like moskitos to stop all debate and use the very tactics used on this thread to shut people up.
I totally agree with everything else you said.
If we don’t have medical freedom we are simply slaves to the drug companies.
PS Those Big Pharma paid trolls are all over the web writing blogs, participating in chat rooms, and shouting out anyone who dissents from the party line...
