Posted on 02/24/2010 4:49:11 AM PST by RaceBannon
The following statement was prepared by Gathering of Eagles concerning Adam Kokesh. Kokesh is running for office in New Mexico.
It is my belief that Adam Kokesh gave aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war. That means he is a traitor.
And he is running for election as a GOP candidate in New Mexico.
God help our nation.
Affiliations with radical leftist groups Mr. Kokesh joined the Iraq Veterans Against War (IVAW) in February 2007, at which time he was 25 years old. The IVAW was formed by the Vietnam Veterans Against War (VVAW), the now infamous group, formed by John Kerry in 1970, and responsible for the fraudulent maligning of our Vietnam veterans at the Winter Soldier Conference in 1971. It will be recalled that John Kerry now stands exposed as having repeated false accusations from that conference, during Congressional testimony in 1971. Similar to the VVAW, the IVAW is a virulently anti-military, anti-America group. It holds the view that our country is an imperialistic and expansionistic One World Order government, and that our military is but a tool of this government. Further, they believe that our soldiers are little more than marauders and murderers who, in the words of John Kerry, behave in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan. Mr. Kokesh was active in the IVAW from 2007 to 2009, at which time he announced his candidacy for Republican Congressman from New Mexico. There are no indications that he has revoked his affiliations with the IVAW. As an active member of the IVAW, Mr. Kokesh was involved in numerous anti-military, and by explicit extension, anti-Bush/Republican activities and actions. While executing these actions, Mr. Kokesh knowingly and gladly, made common cause with a wide array of other well-known, radical anti-America and communist groups. The list of these other groups includes, but is by no means limited to, the following: SDS
United for Justice and Peace
Communist Party of America
In cooperation with the above-named groups and the IVAW, Mr. Kokesh: participated in multiple anti-war demonstrations in Washington DC, and other cites throughout the country; organized and incited violent demonstrations at military recruiting stations; participated in an initiative to encourage active duty soldiers to desert their military post; organized and participated in a Winter Soldier Conference 2, an effort designed to malign and undercut the moral of our soldiers who were fighting and dying on the battlefield. Even a most cursory search of the Internet will yield a plethora of documents attesting to the veracity of these assertions.
Personal character questions, and anti-Republican Party activities
Apart from his considerable radical leftist affiliations and activities, there many concerns about Mr. Kokeshs general personal qualifications for congressman; and we have specific concerns about the appropriateness of his being considered for being a Republican congressman. Mr. Kokesh has no history of personal accomplishments or achievement, yet he does have a notable history of poor judgment and illegal behavior. Moreover, he has no history of supporting the Republican Party, and in fact has been actively unsupportive and undermining of the Party.
Mr. Kokeshs personal accomplishments and achievements appear to be limited to his having served in the Marine Corps from 1999 until 2006, and his political activism with the IVAW from 2007 until 2009. His MC service was basically unremarkable, in terms of citations, medals, and commendations, and it was ultimately marked by a demotion in his discharge rank, from Sergeant to Corporal, and a downgrading of his discharge status from honorable to general. Mr. Kokeshs tenure with the IVAW has been noted above and need not be repeated here.
There are no indications that Mr. Kokesh has ever maintained any private sector employment, and unless otherwise proven, it might be assumed that his work with the IVAW was financed through contributions to that organization, finances that often originated in leftist organizations such as MoveOn.org. Other than an undergraduate degree in Psychology, there are no indications that Mr. Kokesh has achieved any academic standing that might, given his young age and his otherwise lack of general accomplishments, recommend him for serious consideration for Congress.
There are numbers of incidents in Mr. Kokeshs personal life that suggest that he employs poor judgment, and that he has trouble coping with stress. Examples of his poor judgment include the following: he smuggled a gun home from Iraq, and then was apprehended when he bought it onto a college campus; he has incited protestors to engage in violent actions against military recruiting stations, and; he incited unrest on a college campus by hanging racist poster around the campus, and signed the posters as being a member of the college conservative Republican organization.
Given the above, it is our position that Mr. Kokesh is in no way qualified to represent the Republican Party in Congress. In fact, if his history is any indicator of his future performance, it is most likely that he will behave in a manner that is antithetical to the positions and values of the Republican Party. In our view, a Kokesh candidacy will at best, precipitate much conflict within the Republican Party, and, at worst, invite derision from outside of the party.
Like you, we are interested in maintaining the integrity of the Republican Party. We understand that this is a time when the party leadership is striving to reconcile disparate ideas within the party, and to clarify its unified voice. A Kokesh candidacy would be completely at odds with those strivings and ideals.
We are urging the Republican Party to withhold any endorsement of a Kokesh for Congress candidacy. We look forward to hearing from you.
Ron Paul actually endorsed this clown, too..
Someone needs to go “Kahn”(and I don’t mean Madeline) on Kerry’s ass someday...
Everytime I read a story that is despicable, he’s always involved somehow.
Both these guys are a waste of space.
Of course RuPaul would endorse this guy. RuPaul’s antiwar idiocy always overrides any conservative inclinations he might have.
Went to his website. He has a banner that comes straight from the Soviet Union or Cuba. Looks like Lenin carrying a Revolution banner. Not calling him a communist — just saying. Bad choice of theme.
Lets see... he volunteered for the Marines, volunteered for Iraq deployment, saw combat action, was honorably discharged (downgraded to general under honorable conditions for doing the same thing my dad did in WWII - bringing a souvenir weapon back).
You guys go ahead and slander him all you want... as for me, I say thanks for your service to the nation, my fellow Marine!
I thank him for his service but he is still an ass-hat, just like Ron Paul.
No thanks to either.
By the way, you’re ignorance of his discharge is what is funniest
he was NOT dischargeed with a General for the weapon, that is how he lost his stripe which he claimed he still had at rallies.
He got his General Discharge for swearing at an officer in correspondence concerning his wearing of military fatugues at anti-American ralies
Kokesh gave aid and comfort to the enemy at those ralies
and if you want to Claim Marine Veteran Status and support someone like this, then YOU are an Ex-Marine...if you ever were one, boot!
Oh, I almost forgot, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, a guy who Obama listened to for 20 years and never heard his “hate America” sermons, also served in the Marines.
I would not want Jeremiah Wright in office, either.
Murtha was a Marine too. So there ARE bad Marines just like there are bad Army guys.
That’s a sad one, but I most certainly WONT thannk Kokesh for his service, it did him no good, nor would I thank Wright for his service, neither of them are MY Marine Brothers!
Lee Harvey Oswald: EX-Marine for asassinating Kennedy
John Glenn: EX-Marine for sabotaging the Thompson sub-committe hearings
Jeremiah Wright: - EX-Marine for just being himself
Jack Murtha: - EX Marine for his stolen medals and comments he made about Haditha Marines
Adam Kokesh: EX-Marine for his actions is support of America’s enemies in time of war
Sure do. Unfortunately, I don't know where your mommies computer is located.
A real man remains civil in anonymous internet discussions, a sniveling little coward talks tough when he's hiding behind his mother's skirt.
Ha! I stand corrected!
Good list of “Ex-Marines”.
Joe, you are walkin’ into waters that are WAY too deep for you!
There is nothing to be civil about with someone who supports treason or traitors and tries to call it patriotism.
And my computer is up your Momma’s skirt.
Adam Kokesh got Marines killed in Iraq through his work with IVAW, Code Pink, etc. If you still support Kokesh after knowing this then you are no Marine.
How cute and where is your mommie’s computer located?
Kokesh had this wonderful video he was so super proud of, one that showed him sneaking on to a Army Base in Germany with an expired Military ID in the company of German Communists for the purposes of recruiting soldiers into desertion.
In a Mess Hall he started his Anti war spiel and a couple of bored NCO challenged him, at which point Kokesh and his commie buddies ran like bitches rather than be arrested for protesting the war.
The man you are defending is a coward as well as scum, he has shat upon the very essence of what makes a Marine a Marine.
Courage, loyalty, honor, devotion, integrity, and above all else eternal fidelity to Marines, Kokesh has shown time and time again that these are traits absent from his psyche.
Check out his web site the header is beautiful.
If I were a betting man, I’d say Adam has come in contact with another infamous resident of New Mexico, Mark Rudd (co-founder of Weather Underground)
There is more than one candidate for the GOP, isn’t there? If not, no need to worry, they’ll withdraw their support soon enough from that TRAITOR.
Libertarians: If they would only stop supporting drug use, hookers, and start supporting America in war, I might actually like them...
Can you find me a link for that?
Check out Adam’s web site, the header says it all.
IVAW Brings the GI Anti-War Movement to Germany: Member Adam Kokesh Gives A First-Hand Account
Yesterday, the IVAW German Expeditionary Team conducted its first on base action. Our host, Jurgen Wangler, drove the four of us to the US Army base in Ansbach. At the gate, we deployed Team 1, Chris Capps and Thomas Cassidy. Jurgen turned the car around and we watched as Chris used his military ID to get him and Tom on base.
Then Jurgen parked around the corner, and we deployed Team 2, Jeff Englehart and myself. When we got to the gate, the guard said that I couldnt bring Jeff on with me because I was not registered in their system, even though I had a valid military ID. Jeff busted out the perfect story, Were backpacking around Europe, and we just wanted to come on base to use the PX. I just need to get some toiletries. See, I used to be in the Army too, but my ID is expired. The guard suggested Jeff give me a list and wait for me. So I carried on alone.
Chris and Tom walked to the chow hall together, and got in line. While waiting in line, Tom had an awkward moment when he noticed that he was standing between two groups of soldiers he had met the night before at the Ansbach Spring Fest. They said, Whats up? and that was it. They paid and went through the chow line separately, then sat on opposite sides of the biggest room in the chow hall. When I got in, I saw Tom sitting at a table with a soldier and pretended that running into him was a coincidence. Do you mind watching my gear while I get some chow? Anything good here?
I got my chow and sat down next to him. The big screen TV in the corner was tuned to the Armed Forces Network, official TV station of the US military. It just so happened to be showing the OReilly Factor, and he was saying something about the left wing hate machine cranking up to slander Jerry Falwell right after his death. I made some offhand remark, and the soldier started talking about how much he hates OReilly.
I got up and put my tray onto the conveyor belt, then came back to Tom who did the same. Then it was time. I gave him the flyers from Jeffs bag and walked to the far side of the room next to Chris. The flyers were just copies of this letter and the standard IVAW flyers. I said, in my commanding Marine Corps voice, Can I have everyones attention please? The room went silent and while Chris filmed, I read the following:
My name is Adam Kokesh and I am a former Marine and veteran of the occupation of Iraq. I am in Ansbach with the Ansbach Peace Coalition and I am here to deliver a message from the people of Ansbach:
May 17, 2007
To the American soldiers stationed in Ansbach,
The people of Ansbach support you, and you are welcome as always in our city. As we have always said, Americans are always welcome in Germany, just leave your guns at home.
As you know, twenty five hundred American Soldiers will soon be leaving this base to support the occupation of Iraq. Because of this, and the proposed expansion of this base, we are speaking out in opposition of the policies of the US government. But we want to make it clear that we stand in solidarity with the individual troops who are asked to sacrifice for the execution of these policies.
This Saturday, the 19th at 1430, we will have a demonstration in the middle of Ansbach to protest the use of German soil in the ongoing occupation of Iraq.
On Sunday, the 20th at 1700, we will be at the Shlossplatz praying for the victims of the war in Iraq. We pray for the people of Iraq, and the American servicemen who have died serving your country.
On Wednesday the 23rd at 1700 we will be at the gates of this base to protest the expansion of the base and the upcoming deployment.
Last August, the US Army announced its plans to expand this base and close off the road that runs through it. This would double the number of helicopters training here that wake us up in the middle of the night. This would also entail the theft of the land of local farmers, and necessitate that another road be built at the expense of the German taxpayers.
On Thursday the 24th, at 1000 during your farewell ceremony, we will be holding a vigil at the gates of this base to pray for your safe return.
You are all invited to join us this Friday for a beer at the Kammerspiele on Maximillian Street near the Gazebo at 1900. Please come meet with us to discuss the issues before us in a relaxed atmosphere.
Again, we support you, the troops who serve their country with honorable intentions to provide for your national defense, but we oppose the policies of the US Government that do nothing to defend America. If any of you should decide to leave the Army while in Germany and throw down your arms, the people of Ansbach will support you and do our best to provide you with aid, comfort, and sanctuary. We wish to build a new relationship between the people of Germany and the people of America on the basis of peace, reconciliation, and understanding.
The People of Ansbach
While I was reading the letter, an E-7 in ACUs came up to me and nearly whispered, Can you stop reading that, please? But I just ignored him and kept reading. Then he asked to see my ID and I kept reading. Then he walked away to harass Tom, who was handling the literature. The E-7 asked him how he got on post, and if he could see his ID, to which Tom gleefully replied, No, I dont think so. The E-7 then made a few weak grabs at him and the flyers, which he ducked.
When I finished, I walked out into the entryway looking for Tom, who had been busy on the officers side of the chow hall. While Tom and Chris ducked out, an MP (Military Police) came in and one of the civilians working at the chow hall pointed me out to him. Is everything alright, sir? To which I replied, Yeah, Im cool. Then walked out.
I saw Chris and Tom ahead of me on the sidewalk. They were being followed by the same E-7 that had harassed us earlier. After a few seconds, the group of soldiers walking behind him noticed that he had grabbed the wrong hat and was wearing one with a PFCs insignia. He mumbled a weak excuse and kept following Tom and Chris. When they got to the gate, they were able to convince the German private security guard to give them Toms passport right before the E-7 tried to stop them. Tom grabbed it and ran down the street.
I saw the scuffle, and thought I should try to disassociate myself. I kept walking straight past the gate when the First Sergeant who was following me finally decided to let me know that he was actually following me. Hey, you! Where are you going? Cash sales. You need to get out of here. By then the civilian from the chow hall had caught up with us and was pointing at me. Since Tom and Chris had gotten through, I just kept walking to the gate. As I got to the security guard standing in the pedestrian passageway, the soldiers behind me started yelling. Hey, stop that guy! Hey, you need to detain him! Stop him! The security guard told me to stop and I just kept walking. He grabbed my sleeve, but didnt even hold on. I turned the corner and just kept walking. I looked back and the First Sergeant was there watching me, but by then I was home free. Jurgen swung around the corner and I jumped in the car. As Chris passed the gate with his driver, the First Sergeant was left standing outside the gate, shaking his fist at the car with a look of perturbed confusion on his face.
A video of the action can be seen here:

"If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favorable reference to the devil in the House of Commons"
“Adam Kokesh gave aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war. That means he is a traitor.”
So did Barack Hussein Obama. He is a traitor, too, in a position to do a lot of damage.
There are many reasons a person can be opposed to foreign war, yet you insist on ascribing to Adam only your own chosen reasoning. Given Ron Paul is strongly right-wing, your reasoning is most likely bizarrely anachronistic.
The reality is that conservatives (not counting 'neo-con's' that are just liberals trying to do to other nations what liberals have done to our inner cities) are, by principle, opposed to poorly conceived foreign wars. Ron Paul has pointed out there are Constitutional mechanisms such as Letters of Marque and Reprisal that have been ignored by our leftist, anti-Constitution government in recent decades. Osama would likely be dead or in custody now if Paul's advice had been heeded and the Constitution born in mind before attacking nations that did not attack us, at a tiny fraction of the cost in lives and money.
I hope you will at least be consistent and will follow up with rants against leftist nutcase weirdos like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson for sharing Ron Paul's perspective on foreign policy.
You have to watch the video after reading his account of the events.
It is hilarious.
Here’s your TRAITOR friend calling on troops to desert!
You actually say we are slandering a man we are only quoting??
What a pathetic loser you are!!
Wow, You’re that dumb too?
I need to upfdate my list of DUMB libertarian TREASON supporters
Being a small-l libertarian, I was willing to give him a look, being anti-war does not make you necessarily a traitor in my book. But this stunt he pulled was over the top. He is a traitor in my book. F-him.
Benedict Arnold served in the military as well. So much for your “argument”.
My Churchill quote was very much "on point"... sometimes I just forget that everyone isn't as intelligent as I am, so I apologize for throwing one over your head like that.
Are you ok aligning with communists and jihadists?
As a rule? No.
When circumstances warrant it, yes.
Kind of like how when the whole nation was aligned with commies (WWII) or when the fedgov aligned with jihadists (Kosovo, Afghanistan 1979-1989).
Of course, I try not to do so when the jihadists are in the wrong (Kosovo) or when national interests are not at stake (Afghanistan 1979-1989).
Clear enough for ya, or do I need to draw a picture?
Ron Paul. That was my first impression as well. First failing to repudiate endorsements and donations from Stormfront types during his candidacy, and now endorsing a candidate with clear ties to Code Pink, UFPJ, etc., should destroy his credibility with true libertarians.
BTW, his tag line says it all.
God Bless our military!
Tom Mullins is also running against Kokesh in the primary on the R ticket. (check out his issues page below).
He is, by all accounts, a very strong Conservative. He really needs our help. Kokesh has multiple sides promoting and funneling money and support to him. In addition to all the Ron Paul flaming anti-war spam monkeys, Code Pink and MoveOn.org have both thrown their support behind him.
Which leads to the question, would Churchill have hung posters of Hitler around campus, and demonstrated on behalf of the Nazi Party in England?
What’s with this guy, NM FReepers?
Here is the link to Post 168 where that great quote originated.
I take exception to your incorrect history lessons, We did not support Jihadis in Afghanistan or Kosovo.
In Afghanistan we supported those that were fighting for their freedom against the Soviets a very small minority of these were Jihadis.
In Kosovo we attempted to prevent genocide against muslims, again we did not support Jihadis who were the very small minority in that case as well.
Your blanket accusations that redefine history to suit your cause are the very thing you warn against, how then can anyone take you seriously when you violate your own accusations?
PING! to the New Mexico list.
