Can Tea Party Help 8th District Candidate

Republican Joe Walsh won his party's nomination for the Illinois 8th District Congressional seat this February. He'll face Democrat incumbent Melissa Bean in November. But as of right this minute he's broke.

Mr. Walsh is fond of calling himself the "tea party candidate," but with his empty campaign coffers this is an excellent time to ask the question: can the tea party groups that endorsed him help him raise money?

This isn't a sudden situation, though. In December just on the eve of the primary his campaign chief quit the campaign and then sued candidate Walsh over unpaid consulting fees. And now, the Daily Herald reports that two more full time staffers have left the campaign because Walsh cannot pay them...

Here is a big question. Will the tea party groups be able to put their money where their mouths are? They'd better of they won't win.

I agree that the tea party groups should help Joe Walsh, to ensure that he’ll win. I founded the Republican Assembly of Northern Cook Co., and Walsh will give a speech during the first meeting, which will be held on March 22, at 7:00, at the Des Plaines Public Library. I also invited Bob Dold and Joel Pollack, but I haven’t received responses from either of them.

Lots of people claiming to be the Tea Party candidate.

In my district I’m voting for the conservative republican who claims no ties to the tea parties. He’s the best candidate and is the kind of man any true tea partier could support.

However there is a 1 percenter running who seems to have a little tea party backing (at least he claims it) Unfortunately he claims to be a libertarian but his website also has an (R) beside his name. He claims to be a “Ron Paul republican”.
