For Americans living abroad, voting is a privilege that is taken seriously, particularly in an important presidential election year. And so it was in 2008. Absentee ballots were obtained and submitted, and organizations were active around the globe: Democrats Abroad and Republicans Abroad toiled overtime to win hearts and minds of U.S. citizens with activities, speakers, and programs focusing on the issues. And in the era of 24-hour global television news, the campaign wasn’t hard to follow abroad.

***I know, having lived in Israel for the past 17 years, and I’ve always voted. For me, the process of voting serves as a reminder that the U.S. half of my dual citizenship matters, despite my country of residence.***

This is why dual citizenship is troubling. If this was an Iranian, rather than an Israeli - how would his divided loyalty work for the US interests?

Should we GET a vote? We HAVE a vote.

Anybody that gets it in his or her head to disenfranchise ME is going to have one serious fight to deal with. I'm not going down easy!

I work for the Army in Europe. I am not a dual citizen, only an American, so why should I not vote? As it is, when any votes are thrown out in an election, it is always ours...think AlGore in 2000/Franken in 2008, etc.

In this case, the author is 50% American citizen and 50% Israeli citizen.

I am not suggesting he lose any rights - just questioning how divided loyalty works in the US interest.

My sister lived on St. Maarten for 25 years. She’s a Moonbat who wanted to get rid of the Electoral system because Al Gore lost. But she couldn’t name the mayor or the city councilors in our home town.

LOL.

look to Barry O. for an examlar of a Devil Worshipin, Satanic inspired, Communist.

The good news is, he is the poster boy of epic fail and an example to others on how not to achieve your signature goals.

No skills for consensus building and lacks the ability to negotiate and give on things that don’t matter, which results in a failed process and demonstrates he was always an underacheiver.

but, the American people hired the ultimate ousider who unAmerican to the core.

FREE THE LONG FORM!!!

It’s not just the ‘dual citizen’ problem or US citizens living/working abroad.. Foreigners from all nations come here to have their anchor babies, go back to their country and raise USA Voting citizens to influence our elections.
