Healthcare has been a divisive political landmine that has ravaged unsuspecting politicians for years. The idea that something must be done is uniform the method in which healthcare is reformed has been less lucent. I've labored over my position on this topic for some time and I believe the idea is sound and the need is present what is lacking is the desire to meet the challenge.
Having healthcare may have been a luxury in years past but it's an absolute necessity today. Our environment has grown so toxic that more and more people are requiring medical care at much higher frequencies. The costs must be reigned in; we cannot continue to allow something as integral as our national health as a nation to be sabotaged because off wallstreet's insatiable appetite for profit. We've become captives of the system, sacrificed as pawns in a greater game beyond our reach.
The idea that the current suffering of those with no health care could not by some measure be diminished with even a system as flawed as medicare is just not true. If the system set up for our veterans is good enough for our military why is it not good enough for civilian Americans? The misguided wisdom of the politicians on capital hill is that the system is over burdened and ineffectual. If the people added in are required to pay in to the system that in itself would strengthen the system and generate some revenue to help pay for it.
I do not possess a silver bullet to cure our ills but the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. So the first step has been taken, the acknowledgment that a problem exists. The second step would be genuine debate over how to tackle the problem without political jockeying clouding the issues with the intent to mislead. The third step would be making the sacrifices necessary to pay for it. The fourth step would be taking the vote to the people from there as a nation we must decide when enough is enough. Are we going to live in fear and allow those who have not our best interest at heart to keep us bound by fear and doubt? More Debate at EmpireUndone.com
What’s a surper??
Like the Anti-Matter MacBeth?
Dunno. You'd have to ask New Yawk Minute, only he used the term 'Unsurper' prior to being zotted. So, good luck with that...
I'm sure he meant 'usurper' but couldn't get it right (along with some other things...)
Huh. I always thought that Anti-Matter was brother to the Mad Hatter.
Did you forget your meds again Kenneth?
Or, Anti-Matter could be what Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley and Peter Tosh put on their dreadlocks.
See, I'd never think of that since I don't have anything up top to care for...
To the contrary ... our environment has grown so clean that classic mortal diseases are giving way to previously obscured oddities and novel ends at older ages. Social Security itself was enacted on the theory that few would ever reach age 65, and is now buckling under the weight of most elderly using it as a long-term retirement plan. Medical care has gone from focusing on acute crises to a domination of preventative care - and that involving extensive use of expensive leading-edge high-tech. Many maladies suffered now stem from immune systems unused to environmental stresses. Couple that with an insurance system designed to promote early & extensive treatment fast while leveraging shared expenses to absorb increased "spike" and overall costs.
You're welcome to return to the old days of "duct tape & aspirin", and see where "toxic" really fits in.
(Yeah, troll/zot I know. Just like responding to popular misconceptions.)
Kool Aid can be hazardous to your health.
Apparently there is now a whole generation of those that believe they are entitled to what their neighbors earned. That's not need, it's greed.
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Viking Kitty/ZOT ping list!. . . don't be shy.
