How can we convince the Pope to excommunicate the Catholics who voted for ObamaCare?
March 21, 2010

Same goes for Harry Reid and the President of the LDS, etc. Should we start a petition or what? How can Speaker Nancy Pelosi claim to be a Catholic in good standing? Your suggestions and input would be welcomed.

You can convince the Pope with your pocketbook.

If the church’s hierarchy sees large numbers of faithful Catholics withholding donations in protest of this- the Pope might well take action.

The Catholic Bishops should have come out enmasse and condemned any and all Reps and Senators who would vote against a bill containing any language that would open the door for taxpayers to fund abortion! Excommunication SHOULD HAVE ALREADY HAPPENED!

Excommunated would be great, but I would prefer to see several hours of whacks on the nuckles from an angry nun.

I have heard that the Catholic Church opposes abortion. Perhaps we will find out for sure?

So what if they’re excommunicated. What does that do to them? They’re Godless anyway.

They should have, but they didn’t.

Wasn’t there a threat to excomm Juan Carlos of Spain for approving an abortion law there?

There just seems to be enough talk, but not much action on the part of the Catholic Church on this.

They are automatically excommunicated...when they take Holy Communion it is Spiritual Suicide!

If they are excommunicated, they can’t use the church as a prop for their campaigns like Mr. Kerry did in 2004 and they can’t say that they are “catholic” either.

When they die, they won’t have a Catholic funeral where a priest will eulogize them as well.

Time to require more spine of local Bishops and Cardinals. Don’t expect Cardinal Mahony to expel local Catholic mayors and Hollywood’s cafeteria Catholics. We need to petition the Pope to remove liberal bishops and cardinals.

Someone should get the names of people like me who went to Catholic grade school & high school and left the church because they do not teach the parish what is right & wrong and stand against evil. There are so many Catholics who are pro-abortion, pro-gay.... and no one explains from the pulpit what is right & wrong. I know there are many ex-Catholics like myself, but the church is afraid of losing people and money, rather than worrying about people’s souls.

Notre Dame had Christians arrested for protesting abortion. Rome cares more about illegal aliens.

The Pope, et al, should excommunicate every, single one of them. Let's see if any of them has the nuggets to do it.

Exactly. It is high time that democrats were held to account for their actions, and Pelosi has been abusing her putative relationship with the church for so long, and so badly, that she should be formally excommunicated now.

Actually the Catholics in the churches they attend should hold them accountable by blocking their way to the alter for communion and the priest should SPEAK up. It is murder they are condoning.

Maybe it’s just that God is giving me a break, but our Dominican parish in Charlottesville VA is a place where pro-life activities are always happening, and the Gospel is preached.

Last Friday morning in front of Planned Murderhood was really nice, Two homeschooled teenagers holding a large pro-life sign and 4 more of us praying Rosary, Divine Mercy, singing hymns, some free prayer, the Salve sung to the Dominican tone — which is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes.

And one of the friars took the time to be with us, his white habit blowing the breeze and shining in the spring sun

“Get a life!” people yelled as they drove by. Well, yeah. That IS kind of the idea ....

The Catholic Church is not a democracy (or a republic). If it were, everyone would vote to have their favorite sin made OK. Kind of like the United States.

I agree that the Church's Parishes and Dioceses should be tougher, especially when it comes to abortion!

I have to count myself as being very lucky in that my Parish is staunchly pro life and they don't make any bones about it! But I do know what you mean when it comes to the liberal Parishes. They are deplorable and should be cut off as soon as their found out! They should be amputated from the Church as you would amputate a rotting body part. Eventually it will do much harm to the rest of the body if not kill it.

It really doesn't matter in the long run. The Church will be here until the end of time.

We are (hopefully) early on.

The fake Catholics such as Biden and Pelosi and Kerry will wash-out and meet their karma. Soon. Biden, Pelosi, Kerry, Stupak will meet with their own karma. They are only tragic pro-abortion figures. Meaningless, really.

This November........and with ANY vote.....we need to vote out any liberal dimocRats at every chance we get.

The catholic church does not work that way. It always allows for repentance. However, Pelosi has been warned repeatedly that she is in violation of the church by her bishops. I wonder how long this sham will be allowed.

As to Harry Reid, I don’t think the LDS would do anything. I read in an LDS publicaton that abortion is strongly advised against, but that believers should consult with their clergy to make their decision. (My eye doctor has LDS magazines and materials in the waiting room, and there was an article on it.)

I didn't think they had clergy, per se, but that all adult males are the priesthood.
