I’ve never understand the Hunter fans. He seems like a nice man but also something of an authoritarian and statist. His backers never mention, for example, that he voted for BOTH the prescription drugs boondogle and No Child Left Behind. His ranking from the National Taxpayers Union was also quite low.

How about this. No more wishy washy RINOs. We don’t need the “expertise” of another open borders governor, another global warming believing executive, another flip flopping chief, or another pandering Poobah.

WE NEED A REAGANITE. Period.

“The man has great principles but he campaigns as badly as Dole. He is not useful.”

More BS. Hunter had big crowds everywhere he went. The crowds were energized. Dole fell off the stage....remember that? But you keep it up, and insure we get just that, another Dole.

Dole campaigned badly because he had ZERO principles. Just like McCain, Romney, Pawlenty, Rudy, etc etc

I’ve been here....just have tried not to post for awhile. Tired of being pi$$ed off and responding to DUmbass newbies who have yet to learn anything since the last time around.

The same JACKASSES who say they want a Reagan but are willing to run a Romney if it means they get a (temporary) “win” with someone who always moves the ball for the other team.

I wish him nothing but the best. He’s a good man.

Yes, he did. And he’s regretted not bucking Bush more...but then he was the only one bucking Bush in the GOP on several things....did you support Bush??? Or Ron Paul..the only one who didn’t support the GOP position on those issues???

Duncan Hunter’s conservative record is still better than any you can name, but then most people here could care less about that.

Amen. Sadly, all the squishy R’s around here aren’t all newbies. They can be forgiven. Others just want to keep us on the same endless road.

Dole campaigned badly because he didn’t really want the job. Hunter campaigned also as if he really didn’t care if he got it or not. Campaigning was interesting to him but not terribly exciting.

We already have Romney. It’s His Turn and the Democrats, having their candidate already, will reregister and vote in the Republican primaries for Romney. Hunter cannot overcome that. It will take someone with the vision and energy of Ronald Reagan to beat the Republican Tradition. So far only Palin has shown any of that.

I don’t get you Pissant. You’re obviously intelligent, politically savvy, educated, but you’re drawn to one Quixote like cause after another. You might as well run Hunter and Keyes on the same ticket just for thematic effect. Hell, run them both on the Falcon Party ticket and go for perfection within a theme.

One experienced the same feelings watching his campaign, it was interesting but not terribly exciting.

Sarah Palin. She is following Reagan’s playbook and is solid on principles. I don’t know that Republicans will vote for a woman when it comes to the Election same as Republicans generically won’t vote for a black man but Sarah Palin has shown more drive and more conservative vision than her rivals so far.

You sure know a lot about a guy you don’t like and likely NEVER paid any attention to in the first place.
You sound like you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Hunter’s problem with his campaign was that he did his job while he tried to campaign. And he was the ONLY candidate NOT to run for congress and the prez at the same time, like McCain does election cycle after election cycle.

Duncan Hunter is a man of honor and decency. Maybe you’re right, maybe someone like that can’t be president. Certainly not to the GOP faithful! They’d rather have a Sarah Palin, who no one can figure out exactly what the hell she means. With a Duncan Hunter, at least, we know where he stands.

Why don’t you see if we can get a new FB page for Duncan Hunter. I for one know that when he was running for President I wasn’t using it but I am on it now like crazy and forward lots of groups to friends.

“Sarah Palin. She is following Reagan’s playbook and is solid on principles. “

Oh, good grief. There are dozens of threads on FR with thousands of comments, arguing about what she ‘meant’....she’s as ‘clear’ as a river full of mud. But we’ve been told, ‘just wait’....she’ll ‘clarify’....

STILL waiting!

anyone thinks there won’t be another vast wave of illegal aliens coming in anticipation of a third amnesty,

If we do Amnesty again we might as well simply award citizenship to everyone between the Rio Grande and the Colombian border. With 20 million new Democrat votes that will happen soon enough anyway and the United States will absorb and then be absorbed by Mexico.

Please, convince Sarah Palin of that, and Romney, McCain, Huckabee and probably the rest of the so called candidates that the GOP seem to pick for us. Because every one of them is never going to fight amnesty.
