Soneone asked me about this earlier today. This is what works for me. EVERYONE's mileage may vary. The emphasis is on speed and the ability to fight if necessary. Comments, suggestions and raspberries welcome. Fire away.

I like the emphasis on the tomahawk. Not only is it an incredibly valuable outdoor survival tool for procuring firewood, constructing a shelter, scraping a hide, etc. it’s also a devastating weapon in CQB. Lynn Thompson of Cold Steel is a big fan of the tomahawk and has a pretty good video on tactics and techniques for tomahawk fighting.

Raspberries!
Things like a 30 day supply of your meds is necessary (IF they keep you alive. If not, cholesterol meds are just extra weight).
Good post. People who haven't had any type of training may read this, and it might save their life.
Go bag, bug out, whatever (e.g. hurricane preparedness, etc.), needs to be high atop the to do list for everyone.
Test, train, and experiment. All are needed to insure you survive a disaster.., or society breaking down.
Just say'n...

By the end of this month I will be sitting in the living room of my new home on 2.4 acres. Armed. Within a year, will be off the grid as far as power, water and septic goes.
Plenty of hunting and fishing within walking distance of the house. I am hoping to have chickens and maybe a dairy cow by this time next year.
Let the world fall apart.

5.LED Flashlight and extra batteries. If youre smart, your radio, flashlight and any other device you might carry will all use the same batteries. Preferably AA. All the LED flashlights I've seen run on AAA batteries.
There is, however, an adaptor to convert a "two AA" MagLite to an LED bulb.
Alternatively, a half-dozen AAA batteries (two sets) are pretty minimal in space and weight.

2 pairs of vise-grips. 7 inch, curve jaws, w/ wirecutters.
They'll cut though heavy wire and chain-link fence, and get you past a wide variety of fasteners.
