But what would you call unelected, unaccountable, faceless bureaucrats who will decide which treatments you or your loved ones can receive − and which you cannot receive − on the basis of their notion of cost-effectiveness? You can call them aarkvarks, for all I care.

How ELSE do they expect to reduce medical care costs, especially while adding millions of new patients, pissing off the doctors and cutting their pay, and reducing the defecit all at the same time?
Those panels better take into consideration what might happen should life saving treatment be denied a child or other loved one due to cost effectiveness. I know people out there that would do very, very bad things in such a case.
