Oh my: McCain 52, Hayworth 37?

McCain’s favorable rating stands at just 47/46 but it’s the grassroots’ misfortune, I guess, to be saddled with a “true conservative” champion who’s even less popular than he is. Incidentally, this is a poll of likely voters — just as Rasmussen’s polls are, of course. Except that when Rasmussen polled this same race two weeks ago, they found McCain’s lead to be just seven points. I don’t get it. What could have happened between now and then to rescue McCain’s sagging campaign and reinflate his lead?

Palin campaigned for him. So that probably gave him a boost.

This bogus poll has been posted on FR several times today.

He actually said this just a few days ago:

“President Reagan granted amnesty to two million people and that was wrong,” McCain said.

State polls tend to be unreliable, unless taken on the whole. Also, it's a poll via Daily Kos, so trust it at your own peril.

“President Reagan granted amnesty to two million people and that was wrong,” McCain said.

What do you think the chances are that we'll ever hear this from McCain?: "I co-authored an amnesty bill with Ted Kennedy and that was wrong."

I doubt it, if that were the case, Doug Hoffman would have won in a landslide, when it all comes down to it, people make up their own minds(By the way, I don’t trust this poll, isn’t this a Daily Kooks poll). If people in Arizona choose McCain, its because they wanted him, nothing to do with Sarah Palin. I doubt people who are polling for McCain are saying “Well Sarah told me to” LOL

________________

Let me know when Hell freezes over. McCain actually states on his website that he’s against amnesty. Unfortunately, too many people believe his lies.

From the 2008 election:
http://www.cis.org/node/13

(March 31, 2008) –A new poll using neutral language finds that primary and caucus voters have little knowledge of candidates’ immigration positions. The results also show that voters often do not share their candidate’s position.

Among the findings:

* Only 34 percent of McCain voters, 42 percent of Clinton voters, and 52 percent of Obama voters correctly identified their candidate as favoring eventual citizenship for illegal immigrants who meet certain requirements.
* Of McCain voters, 35 percent mistakenly thought he favored enforcement that would cause illegals to return home, another 10 percent thought he wanted mass deportations, and 21 percent didn’t know his position.
* Voters often held different positions from the candidate they supported. Only 31 percent of McCain voters had the same immigration position as he does. For Clinton voters, 45 percent shared her position; 61 percent of Obama voters shared his position
* This lack of knowledge, coupled with disagreements with their candidates’ positions, makes it very difficult to draw any conclusions about the fact that all three remaining candidates favor legalization for illegal immigrants
* Whoever wins the presidency will face significant opposition to giving eventual citizenship to illegal immigrants. Just 25 percent of Republican and 50 percent of Democratic primary/caucus voters said they would support such an effort.

The only way we are going to rid ourselves of McCain is if John Shadegg steps up to challenge him. If he is a true patriot, then he will.

It was a regrettable decision on her part, but I hardly believe it will do any long-term damage to her.

She did it out of loyalty and gratitude, not allegiance to policy positions.

Unlike Myth Romney's support which is based solely on mutually agreed upon positions on the issues and political expediency.
