Please pray for my wife (Update at #180)
April 4, 2010 | 2ndDivisionVet

Posted on 04/03/2010 11:48:55 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

I just took Mrs. 2ndDivisionVet (Barbara) to the hospital. She'd been having trouble speaking, slurring words and now numbness in one hand. The CAT scan says she may have had a small stroke and they're keeping her a few days for observation.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. ~ Philippians 4:6

Sending prayers your way. May the Holy Spirit graciously comfort and strengthen your wife and family, both physically and spiritually, through this trial. May the LORD give the doctors wisdom and extend His healing touch through the work of their hands.

In the name of our great Lord and Savior, JESUS CHRIST,

AMEN.

Why Do You Pray? Someone once asked me if I pray because it makes sense. And I said, “No, I don’t pray because it makes sense. I pray because my life doesn’t make sense without prayer.” I don’t pray to bring God down to earth but to raise myself up and to keep going when I can’t even seem to get going. In the middle of life’s struggles there inevitably comes a time in each of our lives when we collapse on the trail, or in a office, and we turn to the heavens demanding to know why this is happening, swearing we can’t take another step. This experience is often accompanied by a good cry and a fair amount of self-pity. Nevertheless, like you, I have learned that when the pity party is over there is little to be done but to stand up, straighten our pack, and put one foot in front of the other. And prayer I have found is a path where there is none. Tears falling long enough can scar rocks, but tears falling on our cheeks can also cause us to bloom. And the wind in your face just might be God blowing you kisses. Your life is a gift; prayer is a thank you note… It’s just good manners to send out your thank you notes when you’ve been given a great gift… and all of us are gifted who have been given the gift of life. Someone once said that courage is fear that’s said its prayers. Remember to say yours. And put your faith and not your fears in charge. And may you never forget that God is never so with you as when you feel alone. Peace and blessings, Noah Benshea

Oh, I’m so sorry!! I’ve spent nights on horrible cots in the hospital with my daughter (she’s my problem child), but that doesn’t compare to your spouse in her situation. I’m going to church in the morning and will offer up prayers for her. Stay Strong!!!

I’m reminded of the thing you always post: “What can a handgun do?”

But with prayer - we just go for the “big guns” right away! I pray that God will bring healing to Barbara, wisdom to the Doctors, and patience and Love to you. And that you and Barbara will be able to find rest in Him after what I’m sure has been a hectic, worrisome and sleepness night.

There is an injection (sorry can’t remember the name of the med) that, if given in the 2 to 3 hours after a stroke, will reverse any damage. Please ask docs about it.

Prayers with your wife, 2nd Division. I hope you got her to the hospital fairly soon after her experiencing these symptoms. As someone who has had a cerebral vascular accident I know with love and faith this can be overcome.

Prayers.

Resurrection Sunday - He already paid the price for Barbara’s sickness. Don’t look at the natural, Barbara’s symptoms but at what Jesus said about it. ‘By My Stripes, you were healed’. Don’t focus on the problem but the answer - Jesus - He already healed Barbara. Faith brings the healing from the supernatural into the natural. ‘Your faith has healed you’. As Jesus said, ‘just believe’ it is done, It is Finished.

Pegita has posted this healing confession many times - it’s powerful and it’s how we are to address healing.

This Healing Confession was originally penned by a husband for his beloved wife, Patsy, and was said over her and for her daily until the time of her complete restoration to health. May it continue to be for you a source of profound encouragement and trust in the Great Physician.

HEALING CONFESSION
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Living Word. You said that Your Word is Life to those who find it and medicine to all our flesh. Today, by my confession, I apply Your Word to my body by giving voice to it. You said in Psalm 139:14 that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and that Your works are marvelous. I declare that You made me and I am a marvelous creation.

I speak to sickness and disease today and proclaim that according to Philippians 2:10 that they must bow down to the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Every name in Heaven, on earth, and under the earth bows its knee to Jesus’ name.

I speak to my body today and declare that I have authority over it. I command it to receive the Word of God. Matthew 8:17 proclaims that Jesus bore my sickness and took my infirmities. Heavenly Father, I thank You that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me and makes alive my mortal body.

I speak to my immune system and command it to line up with the Word of God. My immune system will destroy sickness and disease in my body and perform its job, for this is what You created it to do. I thank You, Father, that every cell in our body responds to Your Word. Your Word permeates my body from the top of our head to the bottom of my feet. I confess that the Word of God is being made flesh in us. Psalm 103:3 declares that You, Father, forgave all my iniquities and healed all my diseases. Father, that is Your confession and I make it my confession also. I don’t judge by the sight of my eyes; I judge by Your Living Word. It is Your Word that lives in me and brings health and healing to every part of my body.

Heavenly Father, we rejoice at Your promise of divine health. You said it and I believe it. Today I declare that I will see Your Promise of healing manifest in my body. Healing is mine because Jesus paid the price two thousand years ago. God so loved me that He sent His Son to die on the cross so that I could experience life on God’s terms. His abundant life is manifesting in me. Thank you for making me whole ~ body, soul, and spirit. Amen …
