IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman said yesterday that the IRS will confiscate or reduce any individuals tax refund if they do not purchase health insurance.

Question - will they tap “any” refund? Like where certain folks get more back than they ever paid in?

Tired of the Chicago politics of holding people hostage through threats! This is how the health care bill was passed. It’s brute thuggery.
If everyone claimed exemption from withholding, self employed did not pay their quarterly, and nobody filed a 1040, what would the IRS do? Arrest the whole country?
In other words, hold all of us for ransome? What the heck are they doing now?
For 130+ years, the federal government ran solely on income from tarifs and other minor forms of taxations (none of which were directly on citizens.)

Is it true that the health care bill has now given the government the right, at any time it choses, to look into our personal bank accounts...saving, checking, etc., and MOVE our money out if it determines we owe something? Without a court order or without notice or without discussion or even a court date? With NO DEFENSE? Are our bank accounts now like a social security number and OWNED BY THE STATE or FEDERAL GOVERNMENT?

I hate ta tell ya, but they will start withholding for health insurance, just like FICA and FUTA and all the rest. I am confident with this (obvious) prediction.

What’s a “tax refund”?
It’s a good idea anyway not to give them so much, people should do it anyways and always owe.
Won’t matter unfortunately, they will just access your bank accounts and take the penalty.
Might be time to go bankless too. But they can always garnish wages even if your withholding is maxed.
It’s just ridiculous.
