Michael Steele's prodigality & race-baiting could open door for Palin as RNC Chairma'am

"...It would be fun to accuse these make believe journalists of being racists (because they certainly are) but if that is the strategy Steele is taking, he is miscalculating. I’m giving Steele the benefit of a doubt in this theory but regardless of whether I’m right, it is still an unacceptable strategy and the –reason- is a key difference in the noble way conservatives operate versus liberals. Because the specific attribute that makes liberals –liberals- is the desire to wallow in evil at all costs, they are willing to cannibalize anyone anytime anywhere. As long as their actions protect or increase the killing of babies, advance sodomy and expand overall debauchery, they are willing to undermine our foundations.

When Democrats are under suspicion of murder like Ted Kennedy, when Democrats are obviously betraying their country by taking cash bribes for..." (continued)

Around and around this piece goes, till we come to the meat of the issue, which is to take Palin off the table.

Contrary to this author, I do NOT believe a good knock-down contest for the Republican presidential nomination will always automatically give us the worst candidate.

If Steele had taken his job seriously, he would have worked to reform the nomination process and stop letting Iowa and New Hampshire decide our presidential candidate. Had he done so, anything else would have been forgivable.

Bury Palin in the RNC job and hand the nomination to Mitt.

Actually this would get her out of further campaigning in the primary race for McCain.

Oh for God’s sake, NO. The RNC chairman should not be a celebrity, should not constantly be in the public eye. This is half of Steele’s problem: when he’s not actually appearing as a talking head on TV, he’s always finding some way to inadvertently attract media attention to HIMSELF.

The ONLY job of the RNC chairman is to raise money.

The problem with Steele is that he is basically a beltway creature. He dresses nice and appears on Fox News quite a bit. I would say he is more of a show horse than a work horse.

What we need is a battle tested general who will get out into the field and away from DC and actively recruit candidates for Congress and help campaign and fundraise for them. A general who is on offense at all times and is focused on winning and taking back Congess.

Unfortunately I believe the Steele should be replaced with a winning general focused on winning elections and defeating the enemy.

“Contrary to this author, I do NOT believe a good knock-down contest for the Republican presidential nomination will always automatically give us the worst candidate.”

I have -never- believed that a good knock down contest will -ALWAYS- give us the worst candidate. It will happen SOMETIMES as it did last primary. Unfortuanately, sometimes - is enough to destroy the country. You don’t have to be a sage to see that there are three strong factions out there to dillute the conservative vote -at least - 3 ways. You have conservative Christians split between Palin and Huckabee and some even for Romney, the pioneer of universal healthcare upon which Obamacare was crafted.

“If Steele had taken his job seriously, he would have worked to reform the nomination process and stop letting Iowa and New Hampshire decide our presidential candidate. Had he done so, anything else would have been forgivable.”

I agree. He can certainly work to encourage states to move up their primaries but ultimately the states need to move up those primary elections. That will give them more time to establish run-off elections before the general election.

Sarah has proven she can do that, and do it very well.

Why shouldn't the RNC Chair be in the news? I think one problem is that Steele has been in the news for his stupid comments and actions, and has given the RNC more negative media. At least Sarah could articulate what the Republican Party SHOULD stand for, and in such a way that the Independents could warm to the conservative message.

Ain't gonna happen. The only person in America that has less chance than Sarah Palin of heading up the RNC is Barack Obama.

What you just wrote is contradicting. A celebrity like Palin would be -perfect- for that job because she is very good at preaching to the quior, rallying the troops and drawing crowds. I cannot believe you do not see fund raising potential as a corollary to those traits. She is much better at that then debating lightweights like Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric.

Steele is nowhere neer the celebrity Palin is and his problem wasn’t that he was famous. His problem is one of prodigality and profusion.

Personally, I don’t care what sex or race the chair is as long as he or she is not an idiot.

Another blogger in pajamas. Palin would be stupid to want that job. It doesn't fit her style and she's gone rogue. (thank god)

No, it isn’t contradictory. The chairman’s job is to be an administrator, to manage an overall fund raising effort, not attract donations because of their personal notoriety. The chairman shouldn’t be the public face of the party of overshadow it. Celebrities are lightning rods; they repel as many people as they attract. No, Steele wasn’t famous, he just apparently WANTS to be famous, which is worse.

What in the world Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric have to do with a discussion of the RNC chair, I have no idea.

The lack of gravitas does.

I don’t know how “rogue” you can call Palin when she is out there faithfully campaigning for one of the most odious RINOs in the entire Party, House and Seanate combined, out of “loyalty”.

Oh yea, that’s a really rogue of Palin. Thank God she’s taking a stand against the establishment by backing the conservative McCain against the flaming liberal in the race, JD Hayworth.

It takes a brave person to publicly campaign against Harry Ried in his home state! LOL.
